I’m betting IF this mess has slowed considerably even at the end of June, they’ll play.
That leaves a month of practice.

I imagine individuals are working out on their own or maybe in very small groups.

I don’t know the schedules for colleges, but, NFL training camps normally open up around July 20th, with the first exhibition games taking place by the first weekend of August. So if an all clear is issued by the end of June, the NFL should be able to adhere to their schedule.

I wonder though, if people are so spooked by everything, will some people be afraid to go sit in a stadium in close quarters with thousands of people?? The games in sports may resume, but will all the fans return to see them live? I know the hard core fans will watch on TV, but will ticket sales lag????

Ditto for restaurants, concerts, movie theaters, and any other place where you are sitting close to many strangers.

I’m guessing by August, if the numbers have declined, the dedicated sports fan will be about ready to climb over glass to go to a game.

Many, maybe most, NFL teams have waiting lists for season tickets. Every seat is sold. If you decide to take a season off and not buy tickets your seats are sold to someone else and you go to the back of the line for future tickets. So many people might feel forced to buy the tickets even if they won’t go, just so they don’t lose their seats in future years. Stadium might look empty but the seats are sold. The issue is parking and concessions, they would lose all of that in such a scenario. What a shame.
