Walmart announced it will limit the number of people inside its stores at the same time during the COVID-19 pandemic.....Starting Saturday, we will limit the number of customers who can be in a store at once. Stores will now allow no more than five customers for each 1,000 square feet at a given time, roughly 20 percent of a stores capacity, according to a release. Store employees will start a line at a single-entry door and will tell customers to go there to queue. They will then be allowed in the store one-by-one, according to the company.
Associates and signage will remind customers of the importance of social distancing while theyre waiting to enter a storeespecially before it opens in the morning, the store wrote.
Customers will be admitted inside one at a time when a store reaches capacity.
Well also institute one-way movement through our aisles next week in a number of our stores, using floor markers and direction from associates. We expect this to help more customers avoid coming into close contact with others as they shop, the Arkansas-based retailer said.
And once customers check out, they will be directed to exit through a different door than they entered, which should help lessen the instances of people closely passing each other, it said.
Target on Thursday announced a similar measure to promote social distancing as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) virus continues to spread.

In some stores in our area, they put markers on the ground outside stating "6 feet" and they're placed 6 feet apart, for the lines that stretch outside in a maze, takes an hour or two before getting in the store. Inside, there are "6 feet" markers leading up to the checkout stands. They instituted senior days opening early for a couple hours; unfortunately those are the most crowded times. Seniors arrive before 6 a.m. with chairs waiting for the 8 a.m. opening. Crazy scenes.
This is getting to be ridiculous and the only damn dire spot in the nation is NY!!
I went to Costco for Senior hours on Tues. OMG the line reaped around the entire building 2x, I felt like I was in line for a Trump rally!! My neighbor went the same day at 4:30 in the afternoon and walked right in!! I will never go back for Senior hours anywhere!!
reaped = rapped OOPS
Well, crap, I wish they had announced this a little sooner, I’d have gone yesterday to get some of the stuff I need that I can’t get at the Grocery in Capitan, or costs too much there.
Nothing is worth standing in line like that for hours, not for me.
My list was always short - 200 rds of JHP .45, 5 boxes of .308, a couple lbs of black powder and printer cartridges. Now they’ve stopped selling half of those.
Yes. That was disappointing, even though for a long time, I’ve been ordering ammo and handloading supplies from a nearby vendor who specializes in those supplies. Big companies like Walmart are special targets for political message storms from the left side of the political class.
Maybe we should be sending a steady stream of sincerely and truly friendly messages, too. We could write and perfect our own form letters for sending copies out to the offices of various companies.
From the looks of some of the comments here, crowds are still showing up at some of the Walmart stores, maybe in some of the more populated areas? I’m guessing that we’ll see some relief after this brief cool weather spell. If the virus is like the other coronaviruses, warm weather with sunlight will slow it down. That is, as long as people avoid bunching up then...
Will they move to Guam for Kmart?
What a hoot.
Coming to an America near you, soon. Real soon.
Eventually I expect many grocery store to do similar things. Some have been told to work out “a system” for processing sales (don’t remember which state(s) that was/were).
alabama has ordered a version of this as of 5pm today it runs until april 30th
Eff them
This panic sure divide personalities in America
I miss Sanity...
Thank you for the information
Walgreens is another. Has most everything including BEER! Even Corona!
Way to Go
while a few people are inside keeping far distances apart.
They waited in a crowded line outside first all breathing in each others germs.
A local supermarket chain has put arrows on the floor to try to heard people around the store. My observations today means it just takes logger to shop if you follow the arrows as they will heard you around. Once I ignored it and tried to avoid crowds by making my own route I was out quicker ans in contact with fewer people.
Leftists have posted online begging for one way isle to make them feel safer in my area. I have a feeling the “nervous nellies” who from my experience are mostly gen X and Female are inciting many of these “feel good” policies.
I passed someone in a isle today with a probably 5 feet between us and they practically threw themselves against the shelf. They are so concern about this virus, they skipped hand washing an will wear the same pair of gloves for hours on end, or wear a dust mask. That is all feel good measures. Wash you hands, don’t touch you face. No, that dust mask wont stop the virus it will just make you feel safe, only a properly fitted N95 mask will help.
I see grocery shopping as the most dangerous place to catch the virus. All kinds of infected hands have touched the products you handle and contaminate your hands when you pick them up. Your grocery bags become a incubator of countless hands that touched your groceries. I am sure you have the result of someone who grabbed that snot rag from their pocket and wiped the snot from their nose after a healthy sneeze. You never know what all those hands in the store have touched and what ends up on your groceries.
Now the fights will be outside “don’t cut in front of me b!tch”
