The White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) has announced that it is expelling One America News network (OAN) from the briefing room following a report that its correspondent Chanel Rion gained access by circumventing the process and attending as a “guest” of White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham.
In a statement, the WHCA explained that it has limited access to the room in order to comply with social distancing guidelines, and that the available seats are rotated between various outlets. But the WHCA says OAN’s correspondent twice showed up despite it not being their turn.
“We did this because a reporter for this outlet twice attended press briefings in contravention of this policy.”
On Monday Rion asked, “Do you consider the use of the term ‘Chinese food’ racist? Because it’s food that originates in China and has roots in China? And on that note. Major left-wing news media, even in this room, have teamed up with Chinese Communist Party narratives, and they are claiming that you are racist for making these claims about Chinese virus. Is it alarming that major media players, just to oppose you, are consistently siding with foreign state propaganda, Islamic state radicalism, Latin gangs and cartels? And they work right here at the White House with direct access to you and your team.”
At Tuesday’s briefing, Rion asked about how many clinical trials the administration would want to see for hydroxychloroquine — an antimalarial drug Trump has championed for fighting the coronavirus based on anecdotal results — before the government put its stamp of approval on it. The president didn’t field the question, instead deferring to Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert and a member of the task force.
Good question. The woman reporter was not in the seating rotation on the two days in question but she was standing in the back of the room. The reason that she was attending in that manner is that she was invited to the Press Conference as a guest of the President's Press Secretary.
Who controls the room is the issue? Traditionally it has been the press to self police and that way the current President's staff can stay aloof. But now with sn openly Marxist media, all conventions go out he window.
So ten Leftist media organization representatives boot about the only conservative present?
The Press Secretary needs to overrule this NOW!

If I had to guess it’s because rules don’t matter anymore. The Left doesn’t play by the rules unless it serves to benefit them.

OAN is the only news channel left.

For whatever reasons he missed a big opportunity to remove thousands of swamp creatures in the early days of his new administration. Maybe he’ll do it in a second term?
There are STILL too many Obama holdovers and others who resist his agenda in high positions that should be forced out next January, if not sooner. Necessary cost savings measures, dontcha know. :)

Exactly. Practice social distancing. Put a camera in the room. Stream the conference to the public on YouTube and through the White House website. Share the feed with the media.
Why should the WHCA have any say over who gets into the room? Are they not a Dem/Socialist/Communist front group?

Mr President. Correct this wrong decision. I am so upset at the MSM protecting themselves at the expense of OAN. I can’t described how pissed my wife and many friends are about this decision. We are scarifying in so many ways, so please fix this incorrect decision made by those that hate conservatives and America.

Therefore, they must attack OANN to get at Trump.
IMHO POTUS needs to take his detailed ideas and run with them.....
President Trump should just shut out ALL REPORTERS until she is allowed back in. Make it by one on one by appointment only.
