Exclusive: Captain of aircraft carrier with growing coronavirus outbreak pleads for help from Navy
San Franscisco Chronicle ^ | 3-31-2020 | M. Gafni & J. Garafoli

Note: This story has been updated with comments from the U.S. Navy.

The captain of a nuclear aircraft carrier with more than 100 sailors infected with the coronavirus pleaded Monday with U.S. Navy officials for resources to allow isolation of his entire crew and avoid possible deaths in a situation he described as quickly deteriorating.

The unusual plea from Capt. Brett Crozier, a Santa Rosa native, came in a letter obtained exclusively by The Chronicle and confirmed by a senior officer on board the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt, which has been docked in Guam following a COVID-19 outbreak among the crew of more than 4,000 less than a week ago.

“This will require a political solution but it is the right thing to do,” Crozier wrote. “We are not at war. Sailors do not need to die. If we do not act now, we are failing to properly take care of our most trusted asset — our Sailors.”

)So, JUST HOW was operational information, privileged communication (that is NOT for public dissemination) to the SecNav and the Admiral of Pacific Fleet— “obtained” from an anonymous source-— and also, “confirmed by a senior officer onboard”?
...
Or made up...SF Chronicle we are supposed to take as fact?

Applause to Bommer for a most excellent wrap-up.

Agree with Freepersup: I’m surprised we haven’t seen a ballistic rise in the Indian body count yet.

So this virus has not attacked the very old or young on this carrier!! These are young, strong, well fed and healthy people. This is out of sort for all they are telling us who can and will get this crap. How long has the carrier been at sea? If they have been out long, how did the virus get aboard? Mummmmm. Old minds are a wondering.

Well it is her paper but she can’t read. I know I cannot read it because it is written in bull$h-eye-brown stuff, and I cannot read that language.

Anyone wanting to understand how far this varies from standard formats can review the a Navy Correspondence Manual

Sort of looks like an Army decision memorandum by use of the acronym “BLUF”, although the format doesn’t look standard for them. No addressee nor a decision block. Ship captain needs to have his yeoman brush up on correspondence procedures.

McRaven is currently a resident of Qatar... where he receives his Benghazi gun running money in clear through the same channels. He is, frankly quite vulnerable to the current status of “cleanup”. No liked whatsoever by the real SEAL community. Yet another perfumed prick... er, prince. And really full of it. The coup war continues in the background. The DNI was Admiral MacGuire— a really admired actual warfighter SEAL graduate of B/UDS, and of teams.

It is a PDF on Letterhead, but not properly addressed in house to COMPAC and the Pentagon command.

Yes, having continued to study this have noticed the date discrepancies. And thus-— think this could be a “sting” setup from NIS and our white hats in DIA. Expose the chi-com spies along with their actions in a chi-com war game op, real life version.

For example: in a clancy novel... like “Debt of Honor” this would be the Pre-launch of the aggression-— in the fictional novel.

Very much in agreement with you. The obamaumao days of the “love boat” Navy has to be purged. The chi-coms would have none of these issues... ever.

I get all of that-— including the “update” that SecNav Modly- who is a USNA graduate and former serving Naval Officer, did reply with rather detailed reply.

One more thing that makes me think this could be DIA/NIS well designed countermeasure.

The Pacific Fleet cannot be hostage to chi-com machinations— in queerville SF or anywhere else.... so— if so—great!

Excellent observation. One privately sent to me before I posted this “crapola” operation.

Always remembering that nantzi is one of the Intel Gang of 8, with significant chi-com exposure (all voluntary, along with DiFeinstein and her chicom “staffer” read:bag man for her payoffs... of 20 years).

This is of a thread with the Burr operation (granted he is way too stupid in that Senate chair role)— all trying to force resignation. Yet— not looking at di Fi and nantzi and especially schmuckie chuckin schumah. all Dem gang of 8.

Or the tootie fruitee SF Chronicles creative writing staff producer of this fakeA@@ “letter”.

Fairly crude in the improbable writing style, and... verbage. to include “as we are not at war.....”!!! What commander would write such drivel. And then the article cites him as a “Santa Rosa” native (what the hell difference does that make?)

Lunacy.

And another point to pile on the reasons for believing this Ratheresque creation is a forgery.... A carrier has a medical staff on board. Any CO worth his salt would either summarize or forward a copy of the advice provided by his Medical Officer, and a list of supplies, equipment and personnel needed.

In fact, any CO worth his salt would actually provide a comprehensive situation report - list of casualties and prognosis, organizational and operational measures taken so far, proposed course of action, questions on which expert advice is sought, and assistance required. That is because you know that that is the next set of questions to anticipate from your immediate operational and administrative support commands, and being entrusted with the command of a ship, you should have anticipated.

I mean, the man has 4,000 officers and men, good and true, and a carrier battle group full of equipment. He ought to be able to make something of that rather than coming across as a whiny little Obama.
