Mayor Bill de Blasio said he was outraged by President Donald Trump’s suggestion that medical supplies are being stolen by staff at New York City hospitals.
“It’s insulting, it’s outrageous, it’s incredibly insensitive to people right now who are giving their all,” de Blasio said on NY1 Monday morning.
At a White House coronavirus briefing Sunday Trump said he didn’t understand the surging demand for masks at city hospitals.
“Something is going on, and you ought to look into it as reporters. Are they going out the back door?” Trump asked.
“I don’t even know where he’s getting that information,” de Blasio said.
“It’s not true and it’s the wrong thing for him to do and he should just get back to work,” de Blasio fumed.
Last week, an executive at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital said there had been a theft of medical gear— before discovering the supplies on-premises. There have been other, scattered reports about missing and stolen supplies.

His wife stole $500,000,000 from NYC Mental Health Services, so the outrage seems insincere.

They weren’t stolen. Those supplies fell off a truck...
Simple, pithy...and accurate.
A few years ago millions of public dollars controlled by the mayor’s wife went missing.
