Mayor Bill de Blasio said he was outraged by President Donald Trump’s suggestion that medical supplies are being stolen by staff at New York City hospitals.
“It’s insulting, it’s outrageous, it’s incredibly insensitive to people right now who are giving their all,” de Blasio said on NY1 Monday morning.
At a White House coronavirus briefing Sunday Trump said he didn’t understand the surging demand for masks at city hospitals.
“Something is going on, and you ought to look into it as reporters. Are they going out the back door?” Trump asked.
“I don’t even know where he’s getting that information,” de Blasio said.
“It’s not true and it’s the wrong thing for him to do and he should just get back to work,” de Blasio fumed.
Last week, an executive at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital said there had been a theft of medical gear— before discovering the supplies on-premises. There have been other, scattered reports about missing and stolen supplies.

It’s all disappearing. Gloves, masks, hand sanitizer, and Clorox wipes, etc. Can’t say it’s ‘Stolen’ but it’s not there anymore.
I have 3 nurses in my family. They verify that this is true. They think the nighttime cleaning crews are the main perps. The thefts stopped after the supplies were locked up where only nurses could access them.
It's small change compared to Andy Cuomo, who did the same thing with $56 billion he "disappeared" from HUD when he was Secretary in the Clinton Administration. He didn't keep it either, but doled it out to all the inner city political leaders and "ministers" in ghettos nationwide, greasing the skids for his failed presidential run.
They loot the public coffers to spread "good will" amongst their political coconspirators.

I remember in the early 80s hospital scrub suits briefly became a hot fashion item. They disappeared from hospitals faster than you could imagine. Anyone who tells you masks are not being stolen will tell you there is no voter fraud, illegal immigrants commit fewer crimes than US citizens, and global warming will cause human extinction.
Mayr Di Blasio says it’s not his job as Mayor to figure out why medical supplies in his city are missing. His job, as Mayor of New York, is to rag on about Trump. The rest of the country isn’t doing enough for New York. Why does New York get only 1 hospital ship, when they need both? Why does New York get only 2 army hospitals, when army hospitals are being deployed to other cities? Why does New York only get 4,000 ventilators out of the national stockpile of 10,000, when they need 30,000? Everybody else can just f-off and die because New York’s needs are absolute.

Horrifying footage has emerged of dead bodies being loaded onto a refrigerated truck with a forklift outside Brooklyn Hospital in New York City where 776 people have died from coronavirus and 33,000 have been infected.
The video - which was taken by a bystander from their car - shows the bodies being loaded onto a vehicle. It surfaced within hours of a nurse sharing a harrowing photograph of bodies that had been piled into a refrigerated truck to be taken away from a different hospital.
There are makeshift morgues and hospitals popping up all over New York City, the epicenter of the virus in the US, including one in Central Park.
As of Monday morning, there were 142,000 cases of coronavirus in the US and 2,500 people had died.
New York City is expecting its ‘peak’ in the next few weeks and there is a frantic race against time to prepare the already inundated hospital system for it when it comes.
While it is the epicenter now, experts including the White House’s most authoritative voice on the subject - Dr. Anthony Fauci - say other cities will soon experience similarly distressing outbreaks.
New Orleans is expected to be the next hotspot - it currently has 1,350 cases and 73 deaths - but Fauci said on Monday he was also worried about Detroit and Los Angeles.
