I’ve read that azithromycin has an antiviral effect and isn’t primarily included for secondary bacterial infection. You can see this in the data from the early French study. The line that took the sharpest plunge was HCQ plus azithromycin. The line for HCQ alone showed a much shallower decrease. Azithromycin seems to have a synergistic antiviral effect.

These numbers are reasonable, millions of cases, and 100,000 deaths is within reason for a really bad flu season.
New study just out, 1,000 patients treated with hydroxychloroquine and only 1 death. Treatment must begin early before being in need of a ventaltor. The study in NY is waiting until a long time on a ventilator and using it as last resort. If true, the study is purposely designed to fail.
The United States has the power to end this pandemic and termoil in our economy today. President Trump MUST use his emergency powers to enable pat3to demand this treatment if they sign a waiver.

Interesting comment. Might be like our approach to military campaigns. No one likes death. But once upon a time, we would open a campaign like the Normandy Landings and we’d lose a few thousand the first day and we would push on and we would win. But after Bush’s “quagmire” in the Middle East, the media knows it can stop any military campaign but telling America that in the course of the current war, our total body count is now approaching 3000 or whatever, and everyone panics and demands that the war stop.

These things tend to run their course regardless of what is done. The “lockdown” might slow things up and drag it out longer, but the evidence that what is being done is saving lives is anecdotal. In Washington State where it was first discovered in the US, things already appear to be slowing.

$10 trillion spent and 100,000 deaths works out to an even hundred million dollars spent per death. We’re already at $6 trillion so 10 seems totally doable. That’s of course not counting the trillions in self inflected carnage being caused by the Wu Flu Panic. Far more will die of that than ever get a bad case of the Wu Flu.
The so-called "mathematical models" that were used were horribly flawed, that came out Friday afternoon to the best of my knowledge. Where this is all going I'm not sure anyone really knows. The data that been collected thus far shows that it's not likely to spread anywhere near as badly as initially predicted. Beyond that, I don't think anyone really has a clue.
Well the worst flu season in 40 years was 2018 which had 80,000 deaths.
It’s not clear whether Fauci’s prediction is already taking into account the social distancing. It think it is, which implies without the social distancing that deaths would be much higher than 100,000.
