Those of us in downstate Illinois and the whole state of Wisconsin have been wishing for a wall around Chitcago for years. But I suspect those that have a place to go to have already left. As for the rest, normal traffic congestion would pretty well bottle the place up.
Sounds like they need a wall.
I know that when I heard the people dropping like flies in the nursing home I started extra prepping.
This is just total speculation by myself.
Another thing is that it could be was that it is relatively easy to track down recent visitors to that nursing and warn them.
I sure wish more freepers would not just act like experts all the time AND, who trusts the numbers given by Washington states government anyway?
It’s better to make them stay put, and provide lots of support in terms of supplies and medical care, than to shut down the whole country and drive a significant number of our businesses and families into a bankruptcy from which they may never recover.
They need to blow some bridges. Shut down the airports.

My wife was Jonesing for takeout yesterday and we kinda live in the Boonies down here in Central FL. Since I was in the Publix parkinglot, I drove the isles and counted NY license plates. Easy to see with that Orange. I counted 23. That is way beyond normal. Most NYers don’t do Central FL and I was 25 miles for the tourist sections. Before the NYC lockdown, there was one direct flight a day. Now there are 40+ and they are going back EMPTY. I long time resident from The Villages (largest 55+ retirement community in the world) said that he had never seen so many kids playing outside before. This is NOT a time where you typically see families down here AT ALL. We are two weeks behind New York. So are other spots. Good God it is about to get ugly. It all folks are talking about on talk radio down here.... Even our long term NY transplants down here are pissed.
It very well could. He might also be securing all state level and Fema assets and supply lines.
Even as things continue to improve, wouldn’t this be the worst time for a terrotist strike on infrastructure?

Big Blue should be quarantined with the mayor of NYC and their wonderful governor.
In the past recent arrivals were screened for health problems. If they were sick they were held in quarantine. If they had something like TB which was a threat to the population they were sent back. Even with the Travel ban against China that started at the end of December... all they did was fly into Vancouver Canada instead of Seattle and then take the bus back here. No health screening required.
Most of the spread has come from International airports and the inkand air hubs of Chicago, Denver, an Atlanta
