On March 19, we published a story about a trial study conducted by French researchers which showed a combination of Hydroxychloroquine (plaquenil) and Azithromycin to be effective in the treatment of COVID-19 patients. The study, which was led by renowned Didier Raoult M.D/Ph.D, et. al in France, showed that 100% of patients that received a combination of the two anti-malaria drugs tested negative and were virologically cured within 6 days of treatment. The first preliminary trial involved a total of 36 COVID-19 patients. However, U.S. health agencies like FDA and CDA, are still very cautious about the effectiveness and safety of the two drugs due to small trial size and lack of sufficient data.
Today, however, Prof. Didier Raoult and his team published results of their new study. The study was supported by the Institut Hospitalo-Universitaire (IHU) Méditerranée Infection. Unlike the previous small study trial, the new observation study has a larger sample size of 80 COVID-19 patients. The objective of the study was to find an effective treatment to cure COVID-19 patients and to decrease the virus carriage duration.
In 80 in-patients receiving a combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin, the team found a clinical improvement in all but one 86 year-old patient who died, and one 74-year old patient still in intensive care unit. The team also found that, by administering hydroxychloroquine combined with azithromycin, they were able to observe an improvement in all cases, except in one patient who arrived with an advanced form, who was over the age of 86, and in whom the evolution was irreversible, according to a new paper published today in IHU Méditerranée Infection.

someone here found a good link to meds and how they are used with listed side effects

Can we please just start producing at breakneck speed and quit waiting until people are dying to prescribe it?!?!?!?
Don't forget the idiot from Michigan.
Governors in NV, MI and NY are limited its use by threatening doctors who prescribe it.
all but 2 of the 80 survived and recovered- wish they had mentioned how fast the folks recovered, and what state of health from the virus that they were in, but yeah, still soudns encouraging- Get the drug out there as fast as possible! Every day we delay matters- Get it out htere-
apparently cdc knew it was effective way back in 2005, didn’t bother to tell anyone..
What does that have to do with FDA approval that happened eight days ago?
.
I thought politicians were supposed to listen to scientists and experts??? It’s astounding how the left just ignores their own rhetoric. Science this and science that...except with covid-19 treatment. Or, is it only when President Trump says something? There is seriously something to the derangement syndrome among the left. Everyone I know on that side of beliefs is deranged when it comes to him.
I didn’t care for President Obama, but I never thought about him the way the left thinks of President Trump. What a burden to bear, to be so hateful of something you can’t control.
Steve Sisolak, Democrat Governor of Nevada, has blood on his hands.
Oh now this cant be true!
We cant let this get in the way of the democrats and their new eugenics agenda now can we?
No - but hopefully it's a go on prescription hydroxychloroquine, acting as an extremely good zinc ionophore.
This zinc ionophore creates a zinc gateway in infected cells where the virus has docked at ACE2 receptors.
The zinc gateway allows more zinc into the cell, which previous peer-reviewed studies have clearly shown has the effect of stopping virus replicase within the cell.
No replicase, no spread.
There's your science...
If you don't understand how the governors in MI, NV and NY, threatening pharmacies and doctors with legal action, has a chilling effect on patients getting the drug, then I can't help you.
Where are you hearing that this is being used on CV19 pts, other than the doc (who has now been ordered to stop, per Rx constraints), in upstate NY?
I’ve heard of docs taking it, as a preventative...but, not in any other protocols.
NY was supposed to have started, but I read that there is a delay.
Any updates you may have would be appreciated.
I do understand that. I don’t understand what that has to do with my answer to a question about FDA approval.
He’s playing his part in trying to weaponize the virus against Trump. If you strike the king, Syslak, better make it fatal!
From this guy named Donald Trump. Link in post #23.
From an interview, Fauci did a couple of days ago, the PRIMARY concern isn’t the safety of Hydroxychloroquine or, Azithromycin individually. Both have a known safety history.
The Primary Concern is, there is too little data (from a scientific/medical research perspective) on the possible side-effects of their use in combination.
Additionally, and a subject that has gotten very very little press is, the research into that combined with the addition of Zinc supplements. Why? Because Hydroxychloroquines’ primary means of killing viruses is, it opens a pathway for Zinc to enter into the virus and Zinc stops the Coronavirus from being able to replicate in the human body.
I have read numerous articles by epidemiologists that said unaffected people should take both D3 supplements (immune system booster) and Zinc (for the reasons stated above) supplements.
