I thought spending Bill’s were supposed to originate in the House. What makes then not a spending bill?

from another headline, apparently trump and pelosi have not talked to each other in 5 months (trump was asked about this in a recent briefing).

anyway, i think trump is already maneuvering to head off the 4th bill by reopening most of the usa for business by april 12 which is probably close to the time a 4th bill could realistically get passed (for example, i believe that the senate is currently scheduled to reconvene on march 30). anyway, to justify a 4th bill, the crisis would need to be prolonged until at least then. i wonder how long it will take before republicans start to tell certain hardest hit states that they should be on their own from here on out if they choose to shelter in place of their own (state level) volition.
This bill is a complete fraud and every single slimeball on both sides of the aisle who had a hand in it should be ashamed of themselves. I’m sure none of them are, though.

I think the way it works is that it is generally recognized that the House needs to pass an identically worded bill. with an identically worded bill, there is effectively no need for reconciliation at the bill wording level. thus, all that is needed (at least in theory) is some kind of paperwork shuffle to make it ready for the president’s signature. (I could be wrong.)

Agreed, but Trump's going to sign it anyway, assuming the House doesn't attempt to sabotage the bill (which remains a real possibility). Disappointed that Trump will sign it, and it is times like this where I become less confident the country can be saved.
