Three Republican senators said they will oppose the massive stimulus package aimed at helping to offset losses suffered during the CCP virus pandemic unless a drafting error is fixed in the legislation, saying that the issue will provide businesses with an incentive to lay off employees.
A massive drafting error in the current version of the coronavirus relief legislation could have devastating consequences: Unless this bill is fixed, there is a strong incentive for employees to be laid off instead of going to work, Sens. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Ben Sasse (R-Neb.), and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said in a joint statement on Wednesday afternoon. This isnt an abstract, philosophical pointits an immediate, real-world problem.
The Epoch Times refers to the novel coronavirus, which causes the disease COVID-19, as the CCP virus because the Chinese Communist Partys coverup and mismanagement allowed the virus to spread throughout China before it was transmitted worldwide.

Trump, of course, does not have line-item veto authority. Would you agree therefore the R senate leadership had the burden of assuring any legislation in response to the recognized national CV19 crisis dealt only with issues related to that crisis?
McConnell could have simply declared on nation television, This relief package will limited to the solution of the crisis.
Under that view, all other issues such as those largely self serving demands by Pelosi after general agreement had been reached would be considered elsewhere in the normal course.
How the money would be raised will always be a point of negotiation in which case the favorite existing programs of each party would be equally at risk.
This event has no doubt been a valuable lesson for Trump and a wakeup call for the R party, if not the American voter.
If Senator Cornyn wants my vote come November he better vote against it.
Im sick of wimpy Senators. We keep sliding downhill because we vote the same ones back in... the only difference I see between a Democrat or Republican is that with the Democrat we get there sooner..
Support Trump 100% and stand with him..
In superficial principle that the GOP stands for responsible government, yes. But it's all politics, and both sides will do whatever they can get away with (or think they will get away with) while still holding on to enough power.
"Enough power" is an interesting concept too. Even the minority members are part of the privileged class, are able to leverage their position and know how into millions of dollars. The GOP, for example, does much better as the minority party. In that role it can carp and not deliver. When it has a majority, the fact that it really doesn't want to deliver what it claims to stand for hurts them. The hypocrisy is more obvious.

He correctly figured that was not in his best interest. He gets to complain about it, while passing it "because the 'merican people are hurting."
That is a somewhat sour viewpoint based on a couple of assumptions, but you may be correct. And, it is becoming more difficult to defend McConnell notwithstanding his seeming ability to gain timely approval of judicial appointments.
One of the obvious lessons is that the voters must be more involved at the local level. An hour or less every couple of years amounts to reckless disregard.
