LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada’s governor has signed an emergency order barring the use of anti-malaria drugs for someone who has the coronavirus.
Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak’s order Tuesday restricting chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine comes after President Donald Trump touted the medication as a treatment for the virus.

My idiot governor signed the “Emergency Ban” in response to some ignoramus in Phoenix, AZ that ingested “fish-tank” cleaner that is made with “Chloroquine Phosphate.”
Chloroquine Phosphate for fish-tank cleaning is not formulated for human ingestion. It is manufactured with additives that even has a warning disclaimer not for human digestion. Specifically, Trump was referring to the form of Chloroquine called HCQ, a sulfate salt known as hydroxychloroquine sulfate.
But as usual the disinformation dems and the ignorant wife of the foolish husband that poured it into a soda drink claimed Trump said “fish-tank” cleaner is safe as a cure for CV. The wife blames Trump for the death of her husband.
Day One: Trump relates scientific facts about potential coronavirus treatment reported in the mainstream press.
Day Two: Governor bans said treatment by law because Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Even the NY Times article bashing Trump over what he said wrote this:
“doctors have been free to use both old malaria drugs for any purpose deemed appropriate.”

But, when you’re in charge of government-run health care, your main job is to restrict, ration and limit the kind of care people can get. So this governor is just doing his job.
This decision should be the poster child for “Government Run Health Care”. Never go full retard. NV just went Full Retard!
The FDA has said it is OK to use this drug for off label purposes such as the Corona Virus. Two things that may happen. The Gov will resend his order or he will be recalled if people die who may have been saved.
Dr Oz on Hannity just said the problem with the fish tank cleaner was that was a sulfated version.

What an incredible fool this governor is. Every hospital in New York is using chloroquine and he will disallow doctors to prescribe it in Nevada if patients have coronavirus?
Doesn’t he realize that China and South Korea have used this for great benefit? Doesn’t he realize that they tested 1,000 drugs and this works best against the Corona virus?

First let me admit I am somewhat skeptical of this drug. Hey! Where is that cure for all cancers we heard about from Israel about 9 months ago? All we are hearing about is individual testimony from a few victims of the Wuhan Virus. A French study of 30 and this NY Doctor who doesn’t even know how many of the 450 patients he actually treated have the Wuhan Virus. Nevertheless, I am still hopeful. There are a lot of other potential treatments. But they are not readily available like this malaria drug. To shut down the use of this potential life saving drug is totally ridiculous since it is a drug that has been around for decades. We know the side effects. What can it hurt to try it?
Isn’t the left saying that we should keep politics out of science. That this fool can make a blanket statement that he bars the use of these drugs to help people!

To all medical professionals around the world:
My name is Dr. Zev Zelenko and I practice medicine in Monroe, NY. For the last 16 years, I have cared for approximately 75% of the adult population of Kiryas Joel, which is a very close knit community of approximately 35,000 people in which the infection spread rapidly and unchecked prior to the imposition of social distancing.
As of today my team has tested approximately 200 people from this community for Covid-19, and 65% of the results have been positive. If extrapolated to the entire community, that means more than 20,000 people are infected at the present time. Of this group, I estimate that there are 1500 patients who are in the high-risk category (i.e. >60, immunocompromised, comorbidities, etc).
Given the urgency of the situation, I developed the following treatment protocol in the pre-hospital setting and have seen only positive results:
1. Any patient with shortness of breath regardless of age is treated.
2. Any patient in the high-risk category even with just mild symptoms is treated.
3. Young, healthy and low risk patients even with symptoms are not treated (unless their circumstances change and they fall into category 1 or 2).
My out-patient treatment regimen is as follows:
1. Hydroxychloroquine 200mg twice a day for 5 days
2. Azithromycin 500mg once a day for 5 days
3. Zinc sulfate 220mg once a day for 5 days
The rationale for my treatment plan is as follows. I combined the data available from China and South Korea with the recent study published from France (sites available on request). We know that hydroxychloroquine helps Zinc enter the cell. We know that Zinc slows viral replication within the cell. Regarding the use of azithromycin, I postulate it prevents secondary bacterial infections. These three drugs are well known and usually well tolerated, hence the risk to the patient is low.
Since last Thursday, my team has treated approximately 350 patients in Kiryas Joel and another 150 patients in other areas of New York with the above regimen.
Of this group and the information provided to me by affiliated medical teams, we have had ZERO deaths, ZERO hospitalizations, and ZERO intubations. In addition, I have not heard of any negative side effects other than approximately 10% of patients with temporary nausea and diarrhea.
In sum, my urgent recommendation is to initiate treatment in the outpatient setting as soon as possible in accordance with the above. Based on my direct experience, it prevents acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), prevents the need for hospitalization and saves lives.
