The man known in Italy as Patient No. 1 in the countrys devastating outbreak of the coronavirus is out of the hospital a month after he arrived in critically ill condition.
Authorities in Italys hardest hit region of Lombardy played an audio message recorded by the 38-year-old man in which he says, You can get cured of this illness.
The man identified only by his first name of Mattia spent 18 days in intensive care on a respirator. After that time, he says he began to do on his own the most simple and beautiful thing: that is, to breathe.
The man is awaiting the birth of a child within days. Last week, Italian media reported the death of his father, who lived in one of the first towns in Lombardy that were at the heart of the outbreaks start.
Italian doctors say that even before Mattias case, they suspect the virus was circulating in Italy and that some patients who died of pneumonia last fall might have had coronavirus.

The man is awaiting the birth of a child within days...
The virus impregnated him? That’s gonna be a problem.
And they think that some deaths last fall were because of this?
Wow.
By the entry door or through the basement?
“The man identified only by his first name of Mattia spent 18 days in intensive care on a respirator”.
I wonder what the bill would be for this in America.
Good for him and the young people should know that it is dangerous to them too.
Here is an article about a very healthy man with the virus - an Olympic gold medalist - https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/olympic-gold-medalist-cameron-van-der-burgh-battling-coronavirus-n1166961
Time to go to the casino, you are a lucky man.
Italian doctors say that even before Mattias case, they suspect the virus was circulating in Italy and that some patients who died of pneumonia last fall might have had coronavirus.
.......
Just like PRC China claimed: the virus was not originated from China.
OK. Let's keep it in perspective...sounds like it was a bad virus...not taking anything away, I'm sure it sucked, as a fever as an adult does suck...but certainly doesn't sound like he was "battling"...sick, yes, but not "battling"...the media does itself no service by trying to make everything the worst...are there severe cases? Yes. Is everyone who tests positive going to get seriously ill, no.
Yah, I noticed that as well. Our ‘journolists’, they shur be reeel smart. I’m so glad they done got an edjumacashun, especially in the English language.
18 days in intensive care.
18 days? That will leave a mark.

The words, first reported by America NPR, have been pushed to go viral by PRC China and AP as an evidence that the virus was not originated from China.
I do not think New York City has enough beds for victims to say in for 18 days. They will run out of beds quickly.
So you’re willing to take the chance personally?
I was listening last night (AM radio) how the Chinese took over the Italian garment industry.

Northern Italy has over 350,000 Chinese. The way they trot around the world doing business and then go back to China, they definitely could have brought the Wuhan Flu virus to Italy.
So, you think that eighteen days in ICU isn’t battling? Tough crowd!
There are something like 300,000 Chinese in Italy (not counting those who have become citizens, and those of Chinese descent).
FYI, Italy’s curve turned down three days ago, following SK’s.
Don't know how you got there.
