"Fauci. A snake for sure cloaked in the armor of “protection of process”... American ingenuity is on display when Trump shows how quickly the private sector can do it faster and better"

I'll give Fauci the benefit of doubt - for now. After all, he's a doctor. Another doctor on TV said he couldn't prescribe chloroquine because there was no "guidance" for it. "Guidance" is when the FDA tells doctors dosage and days to prescribe it. It seems that most doctors can't (won't) go out on a limb and prescribe something that the FDA hasn't given them permission to do. It's good that "compassionate usage" is now permitted.

Also, his expressed "love" for Hillary may be explained by a belief that Hillary would become president, and as a committed high level bureaucrat, he felt it was necessary. I may excuse him, but certainly don't admire him for this.

Your post about the Chinese in Italy leads to a bigger consideration; should our civilization continue to cluster into larger and larger populations concentrated in smaller and smaller physical areas like NYC, or reverse the trend and go back to rural or at least open areas?

It seems the first point would be that putting too many people into too small a space will lead to the increased chances of disease sweeping through a concentrated population quickly. On the other side, spreading the population means spreading basic services out to meet the demand where it exists, when it exists. You can only have so many emergency responders on call, so dealing with a huge outbreak like this requires having excess capacity available all the time.

Bloomberg could pay Bernie 50 million. He already spent 1 billion. What’s another 50 million to him?

Fauci is not to be trusted... I get the feeling he wants the disease to expand from some of his statements and throwing a wet towel on and possible meds for treatment... without long term trials.

Chuckie suckie

What about us?

According to Quora.com:

“3.79 million Chinese now living in the United States, 2.2 million were born in China, according to the report by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN-DESA).”

That’s a lot more than 300,000. Now, we’re a much bigger country, but we also have a lot of foreign Chinese nationals working or going to school here. My Auburn University (where I used to teach) has many.

Yeah, right.

De Blah-zio needs to start with himself. The soldiers need to prevent him taking his entire staff to the gym with him so he can work out.

Yes, that really is happening.

Italy is a special case from what I have been reading.over the years they have imported ove 300k Chinese workers who live in squalid conditions up to 10 to a room.these workers go back and forth the china and than interact with an aging population in Italy.

Agree as to why Italy was hard hit and where it was hit. But I came across some interesting data on Italy's annual death rates. So far in 2020 the countrywide death rate is not much different than what would be forecast. It continues an existing trend dating back many years.

Italy Death Rate 1950-2020

If you look at the data, the jump in growth rates between 2018 and 2019 was greater than 2019 to 2020. And the death rates have been going up continuously for decades as the population ages. Basically, the deaths reputedly caused by the Wutan virus, have not appreciably affected the overall death rate in Italy. More people are dying annually in one of the oldest populations in the world.

There have been stories alleging that the Italians were attributing many of the deaths incorrectly to the virus despite the fact that many of the victims had other underlying causes that could have just as easily killed the person. Reporting of the deaths may be a major reason why Italy is such an anomaly.

The media divides the country on purpose. It forces both sides to spend lots of money for political advertisements.
They gain more revenue. Look how much Bloomberg donated to their hate Trump efforts. They sing hate and Bloomberg writes a check.

Here’s more on fauci from Sundance:

Political Health – The Motives of a Very, Very, Political Dr. Fauci…
Posted on March 21, 2020 by sundance
There’s been a debate about possible political motives surrounding the panic he has created; the massive economic damage he has inflicted; and the conflicting assertions of National Institute of Allergy and Infections Diseases (NIAID) Director Dr. Anthony Fauci.

CTH identifies the motives as sketchy. He appears to use his position to advance theories and yet position himself to avoid scrutiny.

Sometimes within a 24 hour period Fauci will make a statement, then contradict the initial assertion, then attempt to cloud his own conflict with obtuse and wordy explanations. After watching for several weeks, we called it out HERE.

Perhaps one way to help see through the professional obfuscation, and identify just exactly how political Dr. Fauci is, would be to: compare and contrast Dr. Fauci under President Obama in September 2009 after 3,000 to 4,000 H1N1 deaths in the USA -vs- Dr. Fauci under President Trump in March 2020 after 200 to 300 COVID-19 deaths. WATCH:

.

Now, to better absorb the information…. According to the CDC final estimate of 2009 U.S. H1N1 cases (published in 2011): from April 12, 2009 to April 10, 2010 approximately 60.8 million U.S. cases, 274,304 U.S. hospitalizations, and 12,469 U.S. deaths occurred due to H1N1. That’s the empirical data.

After: (1) watching that 2009 video; and (2) comparing the 2009 H1N1 response to the current 2020 COVID-19 response; and (3) reviewing the empirical data; we must admit to ourselves there is a VERY BIG difference. So now, with the baseline established, we look for why such a big difference; and to do that we (4) evaluate the politics:

It is bad for an organization to have the same person in charge for that long. It stifles change and the development of subordinates who are blocked from advancement

the government is like a hugh corporation.

In some mandatory retirement at 65 for the top level executives was the rule during my days

The government would benefit from something similar if still allowable in todays over legalized Sue Society...

...which begs the question; How many have already been infected and didn’t know.

I had 2 of the 3 symptoms in Jan & Feb. The dry cough that normally and naturally lasts a week with no treatment, lasted for 6 weeks until treated. Very odd circumstances and different from 15 years of predictable history. Something was different—maybe just a less effective immune system, but.......

Much the same for those I know and worked with.

I think lots of us have already had it, but handled it well, which is reflected in US infections significantly lower than other countries.

If you give the drug for the virus, a lawyer will come kill you.

The president should grant immunity from liability to doctors prescribing the drug.

Lawyers are the greater threat than the virus
