Who defines essential and how is it enforced? Obviously you can go to the grocery store, the pharmacy, the gas station, medical facilities, etc. Could a son visit his mother at home or vice versa? What are the legal penalties?
However, if states go into "lockdown", the rules can become more restrictive overnight. People should stock up and be prepared. Prudence is for the wise.
You are describing martial law. I notice that Dem governors, some with future political ambitions, are the ones declaring these lock downs. They are politically driven. And they increase the level of apprehension and panic. "Rumors" of future lockdowns in other states just drives more hoarding increasing scarcity. The herd is being stampeded.
The Left tired of waiting for Molech to grant their precious recession they’ve been praying for and now are just creating one out of thin air.
You re as big an idiot as the poster of this stupid, inaccurate rant.
Understandable because restaurants, fast food places, diners, etc. provide people with about 50% of their food. Close them down and people make a run to the grocery stores to make up the shortfall. It is a self-fulfilling action with predictable results.
I hope you’re right.
Did he also close rest areas on the highway system? There was a trucker rant yesterday about this saying, if there are no bathrooms available to truckers, good luck keeping the shelves stocked.
Think I’ll beat this drum awhile:
+ Courts on hiatus
+ Stalinist ‘directives’
- - - - - -
= Habeas Corpus effectively suspended
Yes, all good my friend! Have a good weekend.
I haven't heard that, and I guess it would be up to the states.
Went for a drive. Closed the restaurants and everyone now flooding grocery stores and they are picked clean.
Same here.
All very good questions.
In Californian, they are talking misdemeanors. However, as you stated, how do you enforce this? The governors of PA and CA are talking now about "social pressure" to keep people off the roads and at home.
My wife is a nurse, and has duties. So she would show her nursing license if need be.
You are describing martial law.
No, not yet anyway. And if it ever got there, they would never call it that. The term itself incites public panic and fear. They will call it something like, "Enhanced Public Safety and Health Travel Restrictions."
Marsha’s Laud?
Then again, I only heard that saying from a Southerner....
ff
Believe me, PA is not NYC at least once you are out of thr Philly region... the absolute lock down statewide is insane.. people will not suffer it indefinitely if they dont see a direct threat... and a hot spot in Philly isnt going to keep people outside of there from saying this is stupid and organizing and stop voluntarily following it.
If you dont see some serious infection and death numbers you got a few weeks, a month tops before things get ugly. What do you think is going to happen when rents come due and no one can pay them because they havent been allowed to work for weeks and no one can cite a single direct reason they have seen?!?
Let alone when food gets low, and no money to buy more?
There is no way this can stay in place if you arent seeing very drmirect threat.
We are in the same area. Our son works in an ER as an EMT. He's working a lot of hours and says they are getting a lot of people coming in with flu-like symptoms. Protective guidelines keep changing and he assumes he's been exposed to the virus. Our county has the highest counts in the state, and we've been under shutdown since Saturday. Given the proximity to New York and New Jersey, our health care providers are going to get slammed. Our son isn't seeing people at death's door, and he says the docs in his ER aren't frantic over the fatality rates, but patient volume is already a problem.
‘This is a day by day unfolding thing, and while its not a bad idea to be prepared anyway, getting worked up over rumors doesnt help.’
part of what he says will probably come true; I am certain that my current state, Pennsylvania, will go under the shelter in place ruling; I base this on the narcissism of of the virtue signalling Tom Wolfe...
‘Its like this literally everywhere in the world and practically in every state democrat or republican.’
not at the point of a gun, as Wolf has done...
‘Thanks for that invaluable input, comrade n00b’
the fact that he/she is a noob is totally irrelevant; and he has a point...inquisitive cops finding someone violating the shutdown zeitgeist will give Wolf all the ammo he needs to declare his beloved martial law...
