56% of Californians is 25.5 million people. If the death rate is 4% as Newsome believes it is, that’s over 1 million dead Californians. Seems a bit of a wild prediction by a wild predictor.
He knows once this hits the homeless population it will look like Italy. He’s just getting out in front of it, probably in an effort to blame Trump. You know the media will push that.
Governor Newsome (Nancy Pelosi’s nephew) is going off the deep end, alas. Pray for the once-great State of Californication.

Sounds to me like he’s pushing wild guess work. The generous interpretation is that he wants to scare Californians into staying at home and not spreading the virus. The ungenerous interpretation is that he’s trying to promote panic, damage the national economy, and allow himself to be more authoritarian.
Shelter in place could sure take a bite out of the homeless problem there.
If the homeless don’t have records, they are easier to disappear. Lots can happen while people are sheltered in place.
No need for panic. I figure the nationwide death tally won’t top 10-12 million, tops. A drop in the bucket compared to the number of abortions.

There is little civic duty or patriotism that can work for the common good.
Apparently anyone who gets it bad needs a ventilator, and if they don’t then there is a very good chance they will not succumb to the disease.
But 4% seems way too high. (Unless he is maybe talking about a percentage of those who seek treatment)

56% is oddly specific. I know they believe in psychics and stuff out there, but where did he come up with this number?
