In the past week, a story that keeps getting written and re-written by young journalists is the stubborn refusal of older Americans to panic about the Wuhan Virus. Pretty much every story reads: “Why is it that a healthy young American like me - in the demographic most likely to survive Coronavirus – is panicking

We know panic never helps. Panic is the opposite of thinking.

"They think a sacrifice is not having coverage on their phone while they freely drive across the country."

Even this old guy thinks that this is a problem when one is on a numbered US highway.

Yeah, I agree with this. Whenever they say “the elderly,” I immediately picture a gray haired granny sitting in a rocking chair knitting. Then I realize that at age 66 I’m in that demographic, even though I’m definitely not sitting down knitting.

My adult son and his wife, both late 30s, are more concerned about my health than I am. They also believe the Global Warming hype. It must be the water.

We didn’t have a car so we rode the bus to town

And with a 3 gallon a week gas ration for the 10 mpg car, there was a lot of walking.

I bet the younger generation doesn’t even know what the bollards are for.

You’d have to be younger than 50 to consider measles ‘serious.’ People who are older than about 50 today had it in childhood and for most it was more fun than going to school because you could watch cartoons and the Little Rascals. It wasn’t considered that serious until the vaccinated Kids came along, so in the early 1990s it became ‘serious.’

I think he was talking about syphillis. Same difference, though.

1. Its an election year.
2. Democrats and media haven’t been able to destroy Trump
3. It’s the flu.
Conclusion : They are weaponizing a flu outbreak to defeat Trump in Nov
Yawn.

Gen Xers would do that. Boomers have already tried being whiny malcontents and got over it.

Just do the math. The ordinary flu has killed over 20,000 people so far this season just in the United States.

LOL. That’s the first thing I thought of when someone mentioned the Stones. Richards is apparently immortal, I guess because he’s looked like he’s been dead for the past 30 years or so. Death looks at him and says, “You’ve obviously been collected already”

This new virus is not as deadly as the one you aren’t worried about. Our society is not durable with this sky-high wimp coefficient.

“This new virus is not as deadly as the one you aren’t worried about. “

Of course, not...it deosn’t take very much to bring the second largest economy in the world (China) to it’s knees and crush the EU under it’s heels. Happens every year.
