I would agree with you, but on this one Schumer has a good point. Bolstering unemployment payments would probably be much more effective because it avoids the unusual scenario where employers are expected to keep paying staff who aren’t needed due to a crash in business activity.

Problem with unemployment is not everybody can get it.

As a self employed private contractor I can’t get unemployment if my business goes under.

Many are in the same boat I am in.

A plus for me is my line of work will survive this event.
