NOT suprised. Other communities have had their "mares" declare a halt to guns and ammo sales. But, define essential. What's essential to me ain't necessarily essential to the "mare" or others in power. So, what about the folks that had just started their waiting period to take possession? Will they still be able to obtain the weapons? Owning a brand new weapon for a first time buyer is a little spooky without some training on some level for saftey sake. But, that ain't defined in the 2nd amendment either. But infringement is self explanatory. Or damn well should be.

It’s “non-essential” until your city goes full Philadelphia and stops arresting people under normal guidelines and laws. Then I would say it’s pretty essential.

When the cops are identifying criminals issuing them a summons, turning them lose with the instructions that they will be arrested at a later date on a warrant, the city is taking away the rights of normal law abiding citizens to protect themselves their families, and their homes, with their 2A rights.

Typical liberals.

The epidemic is providing a convenient pretext for the previously existing shopping list of repressive measures. Every crisis, even real ones, provide this.

Think of it as a dress rehearsal for what they fear most.

According to the sales person at our local sporting goods store said that it was taking 4 days for the background check to complete and the “site was down.”

I am willing to bet that they have not closed any Planned Parenthood offices as nonessential businesses.

Trump should declare gun shops as “Essential for National Defense” and issue an Executive Order that they remain open.

Just to make the Left’s heads explode.

The real SHTF will happen when mandatory quarantine laws meet red flag laws.

“He refused to stay in his house according to the mandatory ‘shelter in place’ law, so we needed to take his guns.”

When that happens, people will shoot back. This is not China, France or Italy.

(Of course, this assumes cops will still be reporting for duty, and following stupid orders, instead of protecting their own families.)

China/Italy/France style mandatory quarantine will not work in the USA. Maybe in Manhattan, but not in Red County USA.

Read this genius thread. Quarantine just delays the pain and hurts the economy more. There are NO good solutions. Many are going to die.

Govts. might think they are in control, but people will act differently in different nations, states and counties. Enforced quarantine as in China, Italy or France will not work the same way in WY or AL.

No matter what govts. try to do, the experiment in “rapid herd immunity” vs. “flatten the curve forever” is going to play out in every community in different ways.

Please read this thread. Max suppression or free range herd immunity, vaccines will not come (if ever) before CV has had its full play.

Our provincial government just shut down all non-essential retail. So only grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, restaurant take-outs, and car repair shops can open. Oh yes. And the government monopoly liquor and marijuana stores! Government is desperate for its revenue.
