"A person at the White House used the term 'kung flu.' My question is: Do you think that's wrong?" Alcindor asked again.
"No, not at all. Not at all," Trump said, adding that Asian Americans "probably would agree with it 100%. It comes from China. Theres nothing not to agree with."

And here all this time I thought the Washington Examiner was one of the good guys.
From now on I shall refer to them as the Washington Rectal Examiner.

These White House press conferences have been a complete waste of time since Trump took office. Now would be a good time to throw out the White House Press Corps and invite in some alternative news reporters and maybe take questions from citizens instead.
As far as the Mainstream Media’s obsession with being politically correct about the flu, they should be reminded that in early February the Mayor of Florence Italy announced that everyone should “hug a Chinese person” to prove they weren’t racist. At this time the mayor is unavailable for comment on how that worked out.

Someone posted on another thread here yesterday that a department at Johns Hopkins Univ - in liberal Baltimore, MD - set up a coronavirus website that goes by that name:
kungflu.net

Not at all," Trump said, adding that Asian Americans "probably would agree with it 100%. It comes from China. Theres nothing not to agree with."This is an absolute lie. This was not the exchange at all.
This is verbatim:
Reporter: "Do you think that's wrong, kung flu, and do you think using the term 'Chinese virus' that puts Asian Americans at risk, that people might target them?"
Trump: "No, no, no I think that probably they would agree with it 100%. It comes from China, there's nothing not to agree on."

Yo, Washington Rectal Examiner, why should we trust the words “reported” by some invisible, unnamed, anonymous person when your own reporters can’t quote President Trump accurately with the whole world watching?

For real!? That was his answer???
I absolutely love this guy!
Even better than that. After she asked the question, he made her repeat the ‘offending phrase’. She tried to ask the entire question again and he stopped her and said repeat the phrase. She reluctantly said ‘Kung Flu’ and then he said he was ok with calling it that.

That's not even close to how the conversation went. I watched it. Not that I'd care if he'd responded that way. But she also referenced the "Chinese Flu" which is what elicited his "not at all" comment. With regard to "Kung-Flu" he asked if she knew who said it, asked her to repeat the term, she hedged, he asked her again, said "Kung Flu?" back as a question. Then said he hadn't heard that. That's correct. The article deceptively edited the quote.
Not only did President Trump ask the reporter to repeat the term, he also asked her who said it. She said she didn't know who said it. She then pivoted to the risk to Asian-Americans for saying Chinese Virus, and that's when he repeated that it's where it came from.
