7 things to pray for on President Trump’s declared National Day of Prayer

Today, Sunday, is a National Day of Prayer to help fight the Wuhan coronavirus. Those who do not have faith (and even some who do) have been ridiculing the President and those who adhere to Judeo-Christian faiths ever since he announced on Friday that we should pray because we are a nation that “has looked to God for protection and strength in times like these.”

He is absolutely correct on both major points. We have historically been a nation that has turned to God to help us through our troubles and it can be an effective way to fight not only the coronavirus, but also the despair that has been flooding over people as a result of the pandemic’s rise.

“As we unite in prayer, we are reminded that there is no burden too heavy for God to lift or for this country to bear with His help. Luke 1:37 promises that ‘For with God nothing shall be impossible,’ and those words are just as true today as they have ever been,” President Trump said in his proclamation.

This is something Americans should take very seriously. Many if not most churches will not be holding services today, opting instead for streaming sermons or no gatherings at all. Many Americans only pray on Sunday, and right now we desperately need as many Americans praying as possible.

All liberals do is attack and ridicule, that has been their modus operandi since time immemorial. Chuck the Shmuck Shummer and Nazi Pelousi are a case in point.

Thank you. We prayed in church today, but there were no specific points to go on.

We had a very nice, calm church service today, and Pastor emphasized the National Day Of Prayer. No angst or panic.

Decades ago I think it was Dennis Miller in a comedy routine who asked, “Have you ever been in a plane that might be going down, and it’s full of born-again Christians going to a convention? They don’t care! They sing.” (I guess he had experienced it first hand.)

No angst or panic is necessary.

The media obama closet Cretans and rat politicians are coming out in droves hoping for millions of deaths and an America that is totally destroyed

The liberals need to pray that after this, the virus had nothing to do with another failed attempt or we may have them swinging like Christmas ornaments for every lamppost.

I am reminded of FDR’s D Day prayer:

And so, in this poignant hour, I ask you to join with me in prayer:

Almighty God: Our sons, pride of our Nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor, a struggle to preserve our Republic, our religion, and our civilization, and to set free a suffering humanity.

Lead them straight and true; give strength to their arms, stoutness to their hearts, steadfastness in their faith.

They will need Thy blessings. Their road will be long and hard. For the enemy is strong. He may hurl back our forces. Success may not come with rushing speed, but we shall return again and again; and we know that by Thy grace, and by the righteousness of our cause, our sons will triumph.

They will be sore tried, by night and by day, without rest-until the victory is won. The darkness will be rent by noise and flame. Men’s souls will be shaken with the violences of war.

Many people have urged that I call the Nation into a single day of special prayer. But because the road is long and the desire is great, I ask that our people devote themselves in a continuance of prayer. As we rise to each new day, and again when each day is spent, let words of prayer be on our lips, invoking Thy help to our efforts.

Give us strength, too — strength in our daily tasks, to redouble the contributions we make in the physical and the material support of our armed forces.

And let our hearts be stout, to wait out the long travail, to bear sorrows that may come, to impart our courage unto our sons wheresoever they may be.

And, O Lord, give us Faith. Give us Faith in Thee; Faith in our sons; Faith in each other; Faith in our united crusade. Let not the keenness of our spirit ever be dulled. Let not the impacts of temporary events, of temporal matters of but fleeting moment let not these deter us in our unconquerable purpose.

With Thy blessing, we shall prevail over the unholy forces of our enemy. Help us to conquer the apostles of greed and racial arrogance. Lead us to the saving of our country, and with our sister Nations into a world unity that will spell a sure peace a peace invulnerable to the scheming of unworthy men. And a peace that will let all of men live in freedom, reaping the just rewards of their honest toil.

Thy will be done, Almighty God.

Amen.

  9. That we contain and slow the spread or stop it.
  10. That food and sanitation provisions are enough and available for all people.
  11. That healthcare supplies are sufficient.
  12. That healthcare equipment such as ventilators and ECMO machines are sufficient.
  13. That effective medicine to treat the illness is identified and made available ASAP.
  14. That the illness dies out with warmer weather.
  15. That the illness does not recur in the winter.
  16. That an effective and safe vaccine becomes available.
  17. That lessons are learned to help stop the spread of seasonal flu as well.
  18. That businesses are protected.
  19. That monetary and fiscal policies don't result in excessive inflation.
  20. That Trump and other officials are protected from the virus.
  21. That suffering is minimized.

Have spent most of the day watching channel EWTN on Comcast.
Said the rosary and watched the Mass since we did not attend church today.

Already feel more calm and relaxed.
