During a press conference on Friday, Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) criticized the federal government’s response to the coronavirus and the “inconsistent” messaging from the federal government. She called on President Trump “to step back and appoint one of our public health officials to be the spokesman” and suggested Dr. Anthony Fauci serve as the spokesperson and give daily briefings on the virus.
Collins said, “We are making progress at the federal level, but I am not satisfied with the response. I think that the messaging at the federal level has been inconsistent. And when you’re dealing with a novel virus like this, it’s very important that health professionals be out front

I have a friend who’s a TDS libertarian. He’s become a real jerk about it.
He spouts all these stupid talking points and even tweets them to Trump telling why in his infinite wisdom the President should step aside from his bumbling.
He was a very good friend at one time but time and distance, along with his increasingly bad decision making skills has tempered us to online discussions on Twitter.
After his last tirade about Trump’s “bumbling” I asked if he bothered to actually watch the Friday press conference, which to all but the most ardent leftist was stellar. He said he was planning to watch it this afternoon.
Not surprisingly, he’s been silent on Twitter since then.
He was actually dense enough to say that his candidate, McMullen would have done a better job. Yea sure.
When the CDC screws up the testing, all the same people blame Trump for not stepping up.
