Dr. Drew says coronavirus panic is 'destroying' businesses — and he wants the media to be held accountable
the Blaze ^ | 03/09/2020 | Carlos Garcia

What I have a problem with is the panic and the fact that businesses are getting destroyed and people's lives are being upended. Not by the virus, but by the panic," he continued.

"The panic must stop, and the press, they really, somehow, need to be held accountable, because they are hurting people."

Everything you said X10.

It is succeeding in getting Slow Joe out of the limelight, and ending Trump rallies. The MSM is happy.

I found myself wishing yesterday, during Trump’s replies to questions, that to one random female he would say, “you’re a dog-faced pony soldier.” It would have been so funny to watch how they played it versus the original quote.

The reporting has helped drive action to take the steps to contain and mitigate the virus, which will help save businesses.

Tell us more...especially about the 'saving businesses' part.

Millions could be killed? Here? That’s ridiculous.

Most viruses are contagious primarily before symptoms, but I don’t know if Ebola is one of those or only after. Furthermore Ebola IS contagious for weeks after via contaminated surfaces so a dead person does not stop the danger.

My father has been in JH near the Bloomberg building which is basically pediatric. Unfortunately the cardiac building he was in the one time is named for a damn sheikh.

Not too happy about it, but what are you going to do? Can’t really blame them for taking the money. Just wish they’d refuse to name it after people who just donate. Would be nice if they named things for important people there. Like Ben Carson.

Don’t be too pessimistic.

After all, Bloomberg just proved having money doesn’t buy love or votes.

Neither did Trump’s back when.

I remember years ago when I lived in NE Ohio the Saudi topliners used to go to the Cleveland Clinic for heart repairs.

If I had to make a hypothetical guess from a hypothetical inside source this person makes their money promoting products on TV where the payment for the promotion is in company stock of said products. Stocks go down this person’s income and projected investments decline.

Just a hypothetical guess. :-)

The media needs to be held accountable.

If that means “direct action” then so be it.

The media lied with the rise of the TEA party.

The media doubled down on the lies with the election of President Trump.

The media have now tripled down on the lies, and are actively formenting panic over this virus as a means to destroy the President.

You say it's ridiculous to say that millions could be killed here. Have you done ANY calculations using ANY assumptions for the appropriate variables? Mike Adams has made a spreadsheet-based tool available that allows you to modify your assumptions and see how those changes affect the number of cases and deaths here. In an article announcing version 2 of the tool, he notes that "One piece of good news in this projection is that if you enter an R0 value of 2.4, and use a social distancing suppression value of 25%, there are only 1.1 million deaths in the USA by July 4th." I'm not so bothered that you don't agree with my claim that President Trump's travel restrictions have likely prevented millions of deaths here just looking ahead to May. After that first press conference, I was disappointed that the President didn't criticize our public health officials for the still stunningly poor testing. The Mike Adams quote above and this link to his spreadsheet-based model http://www.pandemic.news/PPM-Adams-Rev-2.zip is from a March 10 article at Infowars.

It IS ridiculous, because it really is looking like the average flu, maybe more like bird flu, in danger level.

Millions makes it like the Black Plague, and I am confident it is not. The Black Plague killed 30% of the POPULATION, whereas this and other rather common highly contagious diseases of varying types kill maybe let’s say 4% of VICTIMS. I’m being generous.

Don’t twist this into an anti-Trump thing; it’s about whether it’s really that serious or not. We’ve shut down so much stuff that makes more people really go into panic mode and shortages galore, and then civil unrest possible. Sorry, I’m not seeing the death rate to justify this into a good ROI. You’re talking far beyond deaths from flus which are bad enough, and makes no sense.

I’m more afraid of people with real emergencies being swept aside for an inconvenient disease.

Who is this Mike Adams and why should I care? Oh, looks like he’s a conspiracy nut featured on Alex Jones (hey, wasn’t he arrested this week?), and one of those people with no education claiming to know all about nutrition and that it cures all and he won’t see a real doctor. Perhaps he’d like to go to China for TCM and see how that works out.

I don’t know much about Mike Adams. I’ve listened to him as a guest and guest host maybe a dozen hours or so in recent months on Alex Jones show. It’s true enough that you haven’t made nearly so good an impression in these few posts here as Adams has made on me with his commentary and I love the free spreadsheet tool that lets you check the effect of changing various variables including one you emphasize. I recall him writing about health-related matters on his Health Ranger website many years ago. I think the first time I heard him on Alex Jones was when he was discussing his lab company’s test results that showed Alex Jones’ gravity-feed water purification product was quite effective in eliminating fluoride.
