A lot go home over the holidays. My Chinese student renter arrived back on Jan. 27th. She walked in with a big smile and I think was going to give me a hug. I held up my hand and said stop when she was 8 feet away. She was very careful for the following 2 weeks. I read one report that authorities have been hiding that many of the dead in Italy are Chinese because they don’t want to trigger racist anti Chinese sentiment.

Being near an oil shipping port is good. However state gas taxes play a role. June 2019 AARP Bulletin had a Check to Tax map on page 40. States over 40c tax are CA 54.4, PA 58.7, NY 44.1, FL 42.0, IL 42.9, WA 49.4, NJ 41.4. States between 21c and 17c tax are AZ, NM, TX, LA, MS, OK, MO, SC, VA. All the rest lie between 21 and 40 cents per gallon. When I used to drive to Florida to see my son, I would fill up in Virginia, and when I arrived and left South Carolina.
Thanks for the ping. I saw the Freeper’s comment about the large number of Chinese workers in the area of outbreak. I was talking to a friend tonight and she had mentioned the large number of virus cases in Italy. She didn’t know, until I told her about the large number of Chinese leather workers in the Milan area, and that many go home during the holidays.
I was glad to hear that Trump wants to fill the National Petroleum Reserve at these low prices and save us taxpayers some money.
They make portable bidets that work with regular Cola or Water bottles. Plus there’s always the old Hot Water bottle accessory.

Folded newspapers make good enough TP. Keep a plastic bag by the toilet to dispose of them. OBVIOUSLY you cannot flush them down ye ol crappper.
Fold the newspaper, don’t scrunch it up.....which makes it too rough and will chafe your arse.

We don’t have any newspaper—just old phone books. Fortunately, we make a habit of stocking plenty of toilet paper, so it’s not likely we’ll run out.
When I was a kid my Mom had a large garden in our huge backyard. Corn, tomatoes, green beans, onions and aother stuff. Every summer she fired up the canner and canned tomatoes and green beans and then in the fall she always made apple butter. We had a dozen Rhode Island Reds for eggs. I still have chickens and now garden in a raised bed and containers. We get a lot of veggies out of a small area.
