Bloomberg is LINK ONLY...
Foreign reporters asking questions about government response, info exchanges with their countries, particular measures taken
American reporters - play word games, make insinuations, go political do you feel responsible?
Bloody Pathetic.
Do a lot of freepers read/listen to/watch MSM and believe it or something? Seems like it.
Ive complained about this a lot. If/when Big Media presents a fairly well worded article that doesnt seem DIRECTLY related to politics, the path of least resistance is to believe it. Some even actually say, Ill give them the benefit of the doubt...
FraudCo polticized EVERYTHING, and was an enemy combatant against the United States.
Probably a little hard to handle for some here.
Some of Gen. Pattons words come to mind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Which of Patton’s words? I like his words. And it is a fact - ANYTHING the MSM touches turns to toxic waste propaganda. They will subtly (or not) twist, add, cherry pic, change wording, leave out bits, etc so as to make fiction look true. One of my old taglines:
“Half the truth is often a great lie.” B. Franklin
Seems president Trump is leaving it up to local and state authorities to manage quarantines. Nearby state just closed all public K-12 schools for 30 days beginning Monday, and are prohibiting events depending upon number of attendees.
Trump is letting Federalism work.
Hah, some dictator.
Smart Plan, IMHO!
For what it’s worth, despite WV closing down schools, all the hillbillies are out in shorts like nothing is wrong.
Schools are where super-spreaders trade viruses and then go hug their grandparents.
In my area, there was a big rush over the last couple of days because of the President’s prime time talk on Wednesday night - which coincided with the announcements that a lot of sports events would be canceled or played in the absence of fans, and some ‘celebrities’ disclosing that they had been diagnosed with infection.
Some people pay no attention to anything that’s going on in the wider world, until their personal pleasures and concerns are impacted or interrupted.
A lot of us have been prepping for weeks - and the stores will re-stock.
We’re far from ‘super-panic-nothing-available’ - so far.
To all. I flew from Houston, Texas to Narita, Japan this past Wednesday. The flight was less than half full. Spent a two hour layover, the airport was noticeably less busy than normal. Continued my travel to Thailand. The plane was less than a third full.
My planned vacation is a three week stay here in Thailand. COVID-19 has clearly impacted tourism. Many major events have been cancelled by the Thai government. These closures are not popular with most Thais. They generally seem to be little concerned with COVID-19.
A month ago I did purchase an additional rider to my travel insurance to cover any costs related to pandemics, quarantines, travel disruptions, etc. I guess I may just see how good that insurance is if travel back to the USA becomes problematic.
My fiance is Thai and we are spending the trip in different parts of the country visiting friends and family. Fortunately I have the finanial means to spend a couple of months here if need be.
I think people have different levels of concern and act when they reach their own level that tells them to act... many watch and wait until then.
I began a little last week and began plans for what I needed to get and organize over the weekend. By Wed I was set. What got me busy on it was watching the cluster map and the proximity to where I’m at in my state. We are still without any confirmed cases but I wanted to be set before it reaches
After the Pres. spoke Wed. I think a lot of people finally determined it was time.....they were prior in the watch and wait mode.
Was listening to folks in Africa being interviewed on how they see the virus. They’re not concerned either . Believe they had beat Ebola and can beat this too.....some how they forget the world came to their rescue to fight Ebola.....so they have a false sense of security as the world is very busy handling their own countries.
Interesting: That is another version of “normalcy bias”.
Husband saw the first people wearing face masks in the local grocery yesterday (Maryland) - both Asians.
Didn’t see any in Pennsylvania when he was also there yesterday.
I saw a title under a YouTube this morning : ‘Pelosi Passes Virus Response Bill, Filling Vacuum Left by Trump’.
The *only* person I’ve seen wearing a mask was a Chinese woman in the grocery store parking lot.
In an area full of hillbillies, she sure failed to read the room.
I think it’s ingrained cultural habit with a lot of Asians.
Maybe.
If she wanted to part the crowd like Moses, she succeeded.
:D
If you are caring for "Grandma" with an incontinence problem, that's par for the course.
Plus, part of this may be a supply problem: As discussed on FR recently, much TP has non-domestic content in it. This is even in the "premium" stuff. Just check a bag of Charmin Extra Strong, for example.
