A map broadcast by CNN on the contagions of the coronavirus in the world indicates Italy as the main responsible e center of the outbreak of the infection. The image shows that a series of arrows leave the boot for all the countries where the virus has arrived. But no reference is made in the image to China, the country from which the epidemic started.
“Coronavirus cases linked to Italy”, is the title which appeared on superimposed and reproposed on social media with indignant messages, which attack the US broadcaster. And controversy broke out on social media. “Good morning Italy and big applause to CNN for the distorted view of the coronavirus”, writes a journalist.
“Serious CNN propaganda that harms Italy by reporting fake news. An attack on our image and our economy,” tweeted the M5s, demanding an apology from the broadcaster.

In this case, CNN is right.
Are you saying Italy is where the thing started not China? It is the Chinese coronavirus.

A foreign news source let slip yesterday that Italy’s “patient zero” in their coronavirus outbreak is a Pakistani immigrant who makes deliveries for a Chinese restaurant. Otherwise news outlets and government spokesmen continue to play coy about who’s getting and who’s spreading.

Disingenuous criticism. Clearly they are discussing the link between China and other places, not the “epicenter”, per se. outside of China, perhaps it is true that Italy is the prime relay location.

Some speculate (Incomplete information that I guess the press is running with) that Italy has a different strain that mutated in that country which is spreading around (Hence their own “homegrown” virus which is more aggressive). This stuff won’t be figured out/released for public consumption for years and years. Press is acting irresponsible though when they push “speculations” as fact.
That’s because a lot more Americans and Europeans go to Milan than to Wuhan. It seems to have gotten its first European foothold in Northern Italy, probably because there are a lot of Chinese tourists there (we could barely make it across the roof of the Duomo because of the mobs of Chinese tour groups) and lots of Chinese restaurants, etc.
No. But the recent cases are all of Italian origin. China has been under lock down for more than a month.
There’s good reason why CNN is the least watched news reporting cable news outlet and it continues to maintain that position.
Which recent cases? Here in MD our first cases were traced to Egypt. And I don’t think all cases worldwide are simply directly connected to Italy, or China.
And Iran?
And Seattle?
And South Korea?
And the cruise liners?
It ain’t Italy.
And God above only knows about recent cases in China.
There’s good reason why CNN is the least watched news reporting cable news outlet and it continues to maintain that position.
CNN tries harder, 24/7 to be the least watched cable fake news.
