Rep. Matt Gaetz stood by his move to sport an enormous gas mask to protect himself from coronavirus — even during a House floor vote on funding for the public health emergency.
“Look, members of Congress are human petri dishes,” Gaetz (R-Fla.) told TMZ, “We fly through the dirtiest airports, we touch everyone we meet, so if anyone’s gonna get coronavirus, it’s totally gonna be Congress.”
Walking toward a congressional office building, the Florida Republican offered the outlet more examples of the risks politicians face because of their exposure to constituents.
“We shake hands, we kiss babies, we touch everybody’s cell phone when we take a little selfie with them so, we should be ready.”

Plus his name is Matt, so that sentence was kind of unnecessary.
People, he is making a joke about the overreaction and panic that is being peddled. He added that spring breakers shouldn’t cancel their plans because most of what they will consume would kill any virus known to man.
My approach is going to be lessen the viral load. Drs in China might have survived if they had not been constantly exposed to it.
So while a mask may not be totally effective..I will use it if it starts spreading like wildfire.
If I was in NYC riding the subway I would consider using one now. And lots of hand sanitizer.

This being said, the best conditions for spreading viruses by coughing and sneezing are at 40F and low humidity. Raising the temperature to room temperature and raising humidity to normal levels make transmission by coughing and sneezing much less likely.
This means that viruses are dependent on surface contamination. And the biggest surface for them are the hands. So when there is visible contamination, soap and water are best. When there is no visible contamination, using alcohol or oxygen based hand sanitizers is better.
But now there is a third option, cool plasma hand sanitizer.
These ionize nitrogen and oxygen molecules from the ambient air. The resulting nitride and ozone gases are quite lethal to bacteria and viruses, but in low amounts are harmless to humans. You just insert your hands into a plasma sanitizing box for a few seconds and they are sanitized, though your normal skin bacteria will quickly colonize your hands fairly quickly.
When they first use this type of sanitizer most people are surprised because they don’t feel anything from it.
I love the panhandle, but they need to quit sending buffoons to Congress.

Just before the vote, Gaetz, not hiding his disgust, referred to the House floor as a “Petri dish.”
“Essentially the floor of the Congress is a Petri dish. We all fly into these dirty airports, we touch and selfie everyone we meet, and then we congregate together,” Gaetz said.
A statement from Gaetz’s office added, “If there’s anybody that’s going to get coronavirus it’s going to be the United States Congress. House rules do not explicitly allow medical headgear even at this time of heightened concern. This is a rule that should be revisited.”

It goes straight to his fashion sense. He was smart enough to get a black gas mask because it complements his white skin color. Its the bold contrast of black on white. Can you imagine how silly a white mask on white skin would have just looked? That's just out of the question entirely. Especially because we are still in winter!
The author is very much into fashion-forward thinking.
But in Trump’s townhall meeting last night, he doesn’t wear a mask and said he won’t stop shaking hands and hugging people.

It it were ONLY airborne. But alas you can get it by touching things. Wash your hands! and Purell alcohol hand gel will not kill it. You need at least 60% alcohol or tiny amount of chlorine.
And a retired pastor at our church pretty much told me off for not shaking hands a few months ago. Who is laughing now?????
