They’ve been watching too much Batman if they think they can trace a bullet after it has been fired.

Thanks to Obama, I have more ammo that I will use in two lifetimes. Thanks Barak.

And I know exactly how some patriots would get rid of their existing, outlawed ammo.

This is an ideal situation for a leftist government employee.
It’s a triple GS upgrade immediately just to START to engrave 100 boxes of .22LR ammo.
Next? 500,000,000 boxes per year.
As usual, government employees win! Hooray!

It would be microstamped brass... not the bullet. Half the population, especially politicians and MSM have zero knowledge of firearms and ammunition. They do not understand that many Americans have THOUSANDS of rounds of ammo. Pathetic, uninformed jerks.

A03779 Establishes a statewide database to maintain and track coded ammunition; There will be a huge black market for machines to enable counterfeiting coded ammunition. Huge market, money to be made. And mass confusion of authorities when the counterfeit bullets are found after being fired. Stupid NY.

Got a feeling the Supreme Court (if not an alert lower court first) would find such a law an impermissible burden on the free exercise of 2nd Amendment rights.
Roughly similar to some of the voting rights restrictions used to prevent blacks from voting during the segregation era. While technically possible to comply, the process was so complicated/burdensome that it effectively denied the right. That was the intent then and that is the plainly obvious intent of this legislation now.
