Actress Patricia Arquette is urging people to participate in a one-day economic shutdown that is designed to inflict damage on the U.S. economy and hurt President Donald Trump.
Arquette posted a message to Instagram on Thursday promoting the March 2 event, telling her followers that they should refrain from making any purchases — presumably, including food and medication — for a 24-hour period as part of the #resist movement against the Trump administration.

Won’t we just buy the same amount of goods and services just a day earlier or later? How does this affect total demand or consumption? It doesn’t.

Well, I’m just going to continue my boycott of Hollywood as usual. I’ve basically stuck to TCM and classic TV shows these last number of years and see no incentive to change, lol.
BTW, Goldie Hawn’s 1984 flick “Protocol” was on TCM late last night and it’s odd to think many of us here back then went to see (or rent at the video store) titles like that one even and did not have to worry about having ones like Arquette shoving their little opinions in our collective faces.
