The election is in November.

The Coronavirus will probably not even be on the list of top one hundred “issues” considered by voters at that time.

The news cycle these days is _very_ fast, and this will be ancient history by July 1.

I predict this whole thing blows over by the end of this week.

I have no dog in this fight, but I must say I do like your optimism. And after reading your post I’m even coughing a little less! Ha ha!

You are wasting time with rational thinking about this. The sheep are going to panic like sheep do. This story is making FR look like a bunch of DU wackos about climate change.

In fact, I have observed that DU and FR actually have very similar threads about certain topics:

1. Irrational fear of vaccines
2. Unfounded fear of GMOs, with a complete lack of facts
3. Silly diet extremes of various types.
4. Federal Reserve conspiracies

If it does, more evidence of bio-engineering.

“Over here on FR, we support President Trump”

Uhh, yes we do. And some of us hide behind this support to

promote faerie tales and conspiracies like you are doing.

I don’t mean to sound jaded but just maybe this flu is a good excuse for the Chinese central committee to mask the severe economic downturn they are in by substituting a pandemic to avoid dealing with a hungry and rioting public.

I understand the desire to categorize the COVID-19 virus as just the latest in a long series of attacks by the Deep State/MSM coalition on Trump's Presidency. It would make perfect sense for that cabal to try something like this to destabilize markets and slow down Trump's re-election, which they cannot realistically stop with their own preferred candidates.

I can only speak as someone with inside knowledge about the supply chain disruptions that are occurring due to China's unprecedented shutdowns and quarantines. We are only at the very beginning of the tsunami of negative economic follow-on effects from the stoppages that have already happened. US factory shutdowns and layoffs for the April-July period are now guaranteed and cannot be alleviated even if China were to resume full operation Monday morning.

The market took a long time to fully realize this. It is important to understand that markets are not reacting to the effects of any potential spread of the virus in the USA yet - it is reacting to things that have already happened to vital Chinese and Japanese and South Korean suppliers. Things that are real.

Even if the average American suffers little more than a head cold from the virus - the economic damage has already been done and will not be quickly recovered from. The virus and its effects are not fake, and cannot be pushed away by aggressive talk - even from Rush Limbaugh.

Next they will criticize this because it is an opinion piece and not peer reviewed.

Sick of reading and hearing bout this panic borne disease.

Never let a crisis go to waste.

Listen friend, I find your comments telling me about the website amusing but insulting. You don’t need to spell out anything to me...Unless you want to provide some facts instead of opinion.

You have nerve implying that I and others are being paid to post...I have been here 8 years longer than you, and I have posted many articles...I recognize many of the posters on these threads...Frankly not since the election in 2016 have I seen anyone suggest posters are being paid....But you seem to be rather fixated on it...

You are entitled to your opinions. Mine are just as valid as yours...Maybe more valid since I actually have a family member who works in a testing lab for a large group of hospitals and is doing grad work in infectious disease/infection control...

Frankly, I think your most recent post regarding the first death in the US: “about an(sic.) measly one supposed death from coronavirus since the coronavirus broke out in January?” is one of the worst I have read in a long time.

Since you go on in that post to suggest that the mods should step in...your post would be a good start...it was very bad form.

That post about “bout an(sic.) measly one supposed death from coronavirus since the coronavirus broke out in January?” was on this thread:

Are you posting as two people too?

On that opinion thing, yes everyone is entitled to their opinion. What everyone is not entitled to is their own facts.
And my point remains.
Over 100 deaths from flu on average every day, one supposed death from corona virus in two months, so why are you spreading panic over the one death?

You have accused me of being a paid troll...Now you have accused me of “spreading panic.”

Seriously, the one who is over the top is you...

You clearly have made it your mission to denigrate anyone who posts any information.

And so who is the troll?
I will feed you no more...

But I do agree that the mods should get control of this issue starting with your terrible comment about “one measly supposed death” Shame on you!

On one side one death.
On the other side, over 100 deaths a day on average every day every year.
Not even close.

The USA and Afghanistan just agreed to end the formerly endless 19 year war. Troops will be home soon. That’s one of the huge stories that are being overshadowed by the virus. Thanks, Enemedia.
