The coronavirus could be up to 1,000 times more infectious than SARS because it plagues the body in the same way as HIV and Ebola, scientists warn.
Experts initially presumed the spread of COVID-19 would follow the same trajectory as the SARS outbreak in 2002/3, because the viruses are almost identical genetically.

Making fun of people? If anyone clings to fear and hysteria rather than using rational logic it deserves to be pointed out. Ive read plenty on the subject and I know science.
100%! Sad isnt it?
Unfortunately your education and logic dont seem to be comprehending what is still happening in China.
I am not saying its happening here. What I am saying is that unless you are devoid of any human compassion, what is happening in China should concern you.
And I would like to witness some of this hysteria you speak of?
Coronavirus binds to human body cells similar to aggressive infectious diseases...in just two months the current coronavirus crisis has already struck down 82,000 victims and almost 3,000 patients have succumbed to the illness...
the coronavirus has 'cleavage sites' similar to those in HIV and Ebola,...'This virus may use the packing mechanisms of other viruses such as HIV... It is similar to SARS, which infected 8,000 people and killed nearly 800 in an outbreak in Asia in 2003, in that it is a type of coronavirus which infects humans' lungs. It is less deadly than SARS, however, which killed around one in 10 people, compared to approximately one in 50 for COVID-19.
Another reason for concern is that nobody has any immunity to the virus because they've never encountered it before. This means it may be able to cause more damage than viruses we come across often, like the flu or common cold...'Most seasonal flu viruses have a case fatality rate of less than one in 1,000 people...'Two per cent case fatality rate is comparable to the Spanish Flu pandemic in 1918...
Once someone has caught the COVID-19 virus it may take between two and 14 days, or even longer, for them to show any symptoms but they may still be contagious during this time.
If and when they do become ill, typical signs include a runny nose, a cough, sore throat and a fever (high temperature). The vast majority of patients will recover from these without any issues, and many will need no medical help at all. In a small group of patients, who seem mainly to be the elderly or those with long-term illnesses, it can lead to pneumonia...young children do not seem to be particularly badly affected by the virus
Sure, 1,000 is a nice round number.
Data for far:
It is similar to SARS, which infected 8,000 people and killed nearly 800 in an outbreak in Asia in 2003, in that it is a type of coronavirus which infects humans' lungs. It is less deadly than SARS, however, which killed around one in 10 people, compared to approximately one in 50 for COVID-19...
'Most seasonal flu viruses have a case fatality rate of less than one in 1,000 people. Here we're talking about a virus where we don't understand fully the severity spectrum but it's possible the case fatality rate could be as high as two per cent.' 'Two per cent case fatality rate is comparable to the Spanish Flu pandemic in 1918 so it is a significant concern globally.' https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-8055401/Coronavirus-1-000-times-infectious-SARS-scientists-warn.html
In perspective, sodomy is the means of HIV transmission in over 80% of cases among men (after 40 years of trying to tame transmission), and those on medicaid can have help for prevention (2k a day) and or treatment (about 375,000 lifetime) yet unlike Covid-19 this is a result of a consensual non-essential non-productive recreational activity, which is promoted.
Where I live now we have a huge hospital which can accommodate pretty much everything, done over the past five years....... as well my hometown hospital was bought out and now a wonderful expanded, upgraded and modern hospital.
The same thing has happened to where a friend of mine lives and they're community is very happy for it. This is happening in PA....which is basically a rural state...I can't speak for other states however.
Speaking of which, I came across a series of "prepper" threads starting from 2008, 3 of which ran over 10,000 posts!
Where there more FReepreppers then?
I just LOVE the smell of speculation in the morning!
Should these two words even BE in the same sentence??
...that only works when the wind blows AWAY from those using it on their enemies!
Wily would be an early implementer...
Israel has already saved the world from the dreaded Second Death!!
” Another reason for concern is that nobody has any immunity to the virus because they’ve never encountered it before. “
Some coronaviruses actually seem to confer reverse immunity...in other words: increased susceptibility and sensitivity following infection by a prior coronavirus strain. Makes it hell to design effective vaccinations. Demonstrated in vitro and discussed on other threads.
No; wait.
It wasn't Coronavirus; but CHOICE!
