The coronavirus could be up to 1,000 times more infectious than SARS because it plagues the body in the same way as HIV and Ebola, scientists warn.

Experts initially presumed the spread of COVID-19 would follow the same trajectory as the SARS outbreak in 2002/3, because the viruses are almost identical genetically.

“Sadly we have FReepers who sound exactly like Globull Warming alarmists! They are becoming more and more unhinged.”

Isnt it weird how the same people on FR that dismiss all scientists when it comes to “climate change”, and will quickly tell you how “controled” the Chinese communist scientists are, and thus are all liars, are the ones that breathlessly post something from a scientist from China?

What I tend to believe, and I have only anecdotal evidence to support this, is the following:

China, like probably all of the first-world countries on earth, play with diseases like this to prepare for a day where something like this is used against them. Any bioweapon has to have an offensive and defensive component.

The ‘sword’ is the infecting agent. The ‘shield’ is the vaccine or cure used to protect your strategic interests.

Culture is a factor here, and I believe that lab workers charged with disposing of test subjects may have sold them instead, for whatever reason.

China can’t exactly come forward and admit this, and the ‘wet market’ initial story was a plausible enough cover in that it the animals may have been sold there, and that was the index element of the spread.

Once scientists got a look at the virus and fully sequenced it, it likely became apparent that CV-19 came from a lab.

Had this been an intentional act by China, I doubt they would have initiated the attack a few miles from the facility it came from. I would have done it closer to a US facility that did the same research.

China had a zoo for tiny beasts, and one got out in or on an actual beast.

That makes more sense to me.

If China had the ‘shield’ component, they’d have used it by now. Why take a trillion dollar hit to your economy so close to signing an economic deal that was already going to cost you in several ways?

Coup against Xi? Maybe, but why would you do this when there’s a risk one of your own family could end up being collateral damage.

Anyway, simple tends to be more likely, and this fits the information (such that it is) at the moment, FOR ME.

Interested to hear anyone’s thoughts on this theory.

Now if you'll excuse me, for a bit, I'm going to slide those two scales together and either come back and say "AHA! I told you so!" Or apologize...

South Korea has 2337 cases, 22 recovered, 13 deaths
When China had 2757 cases they had 0 recovered, 0 deaths.

Let's give it a couple weeks to get meaningful data for a side-by-side comparison, shall we?

Unless you want to use this data point (singular) to assert it's WORSE in South Korea. You're on your own there. I ain't going to say that!

I agree! It’s beyond me that supposed ‘smart’ folks on here grab onto the media narrative and twist themselves inside out just to try and prove that the worst cast scenario is unfolding. The information that IS KNOWN simply does not paint that picture. Hell I’ve see supposed pro-Trump patriots on this very site claim that Trump is losing their vote because of his mishandling of this hyped up, hysterical non-emergency!

No you HJ, you have always been a voice of reason and a clear thinking patriot!

“WHO raises coronavirus threat assessment to its highest level: ‘Wake up, get ready, this virus may be on its way’”

A few days ago you guys were telling us WHO were bought off by the CCP.

Don’t be so stupid. I’m talking about situations where you don’t have soap and water and a sink available. Idiot.

I think the uncounted mild cases quite possibly 10x to 100x what’s being counted as infected! Most epidemiologists say that death rates are almost always exaggerated at the beginning of any outbreak for that very reason. To add to that, WE KNOW that there are asymptomatic and mild cases...and those will never be counted until a scientific serosurvey is conducted.

Have a great weekend...and yes I mean that.

last week, Tuesday S. Korea had something like 20 cases. Now, what 1000-2000. Doubling every 2 to 3 days. Killing 2-5%. As opposed to normal flu at .2% Contagious even when you don’t show symptoms, and can incubate without symptoms showing for up to 27 days, last estimate.

But, just not a concern, ‘eh?

China and other countries shut down their societies and economies for negligible reasons.

GET REAL.

Seen this story?

From NY POST:

Read that again. It sure sounds like China has a problem keeping dangerous pathogens in test tubes where they belong, doesn’t it? And just how many “microbiology labs” are there in China that handle “advanced viruses like the novel coronavirus”?

It turns out that in all of China, there is only one. And this one is located in the Chinese city of Wuhan that just happens to be … the epicenter of the epidemic.

That’s right. China’s only Level 4 microbiology lab that is equipped to handle deadly coronaviruses, called the National Biosafety Laboratory, is part of the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

“I don’t believe anything coming from China...including the supposed report.”

Much better to watch the rest of the world, especially the ones with heavy China travel.

How many Chinese flew in and out of America BEFORE China even admitted this disease existed?
