BOTHELL, Wash. The superintendent of Northshore School District said Wednesday in an email to families one of its high schools will be closed Thursday after a staffer's family member was placed in quarantine for possible coronavirus.
Northshore School District superintendent Michelle Reid said Bothell High School will be closed Thursday "out of an abundance of caution."
Reid said a staff member at Bothell High School returned to work Monday after a week of international travel. The staffer said a family member traveling with them became sick Tuesday and was taken to the hospital. The family member is being treated, monitored and quarantined at the hospital for possible coronavirus. The test results for the sicked family member may take 5-7 days.
Reid said the school staffer is not sick, but remains in self-quarantine at their home.

It only takes one day to prevent a coronavirus outbreak? That doesn’t sound difficult.
ping!
the issue is how many of the family members exposed how many others along the way from the airport and back to work.
Okay. And that can be resolved in one day? Still doesn’t sound difficult. I’m beginning to think this coronavirus hysteria is unfounded.
Let’s hope to a degree you are right or we have had enough of a lead time to properly be prepared to respond. Just like President Trump said last night.
With luck, he isn't actually infected and this is just a training exercise with an added sense of realism.Bring Out Your DeadHow many Bothell parents would be willing to bet their kids' lives it isn't real?
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
anti trump politically induced fear
Get rid of the administrator
No, it can’t be done in one day. This is some kind of half, feel good measure that results in nothing.
At this point I don’t think any parent is willing to bet their kid’s lives it isn’t real.
How many are going to hold their kids out of school after they give the all clear?
Based on riri’s post he would...
Your post is interesting until it gets to the bottom line about saving just one child. That is so lefty.
What’s wrong with saving any life? Or saving many lives? Why narrow it down to just one person? Did you ever stop to think others might want to be saved?
Or as the leftardians put it, “It’s for the children”. “It’s for the better good”.
Sorry for the rant, but this leftspeak crap really annoys me.
I wonder if they will go full coronavirus in cleaning the school—or just send some poor workers in to muck around for a day.
Also, I thought results took two days?
Does the hospital have sufficient quarantine facilities?
Is that the standard whereby we will take tests—if a suspect with a direct travel link requires hospitalization?
What is full cornovirus cleaning?
I know schools here in my area have been shutting down due to outbreaks of regular flu so they can get in there and clean the schools.
I would think the workers know what they are doing?
... may take 5-7 days.”
I wonder long do the tests take in other parts of the world where you can find numbers updated daily on twitter.
Why can’t people just sit their happy butts in their home country for a short while until this calms down? Why do they need to go gallivanting around the world (if indeed it is for pleasure and not business obligation)and bring this nasty bug home to spread around to other unsuspecting people.
Also I’m upset that one can be so careful during flu and now coronavirus season but all it takes is one stranger coughing near your face to blow it all. Upon leaving work last night I crossed paths with two teenage looking employees one of which proceeded to let out a forceful cough without covering his darn mouth whatsoever just as I passed.
PRECISELY! I've hijacked what used to be their favorite phrase they used to cram their evil plans down our throats and am cramming it right back down theirs!
We can play the game right back at them.
They have no defense save to counter their own arguments. It's a wonder to behold the cognitive dissonance melting one of them down face-to-face. Try it some time...
The place probably needed a good cleaning, anyway.
THEN WALK AWAY FROM THE SHIP(in this case school) FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. NO virus survives in anything for several weeks without a host.
There is no way to clean a whole building in one day. Maybe dust it but not clean out a virus. You would need to clean every square inch of everything in the building. Behind, around and through.
Like someone else said. It’s a “feel good” cleaning” Spray a little Lysol and call it good.
I would Ozone the whole building for 3 days to actually get it clear of the virus.
