Former Vice President Joe Biden has an 18-point lead over his Democratic presidential primary opponents in South Carolina, according to a poll released Wednesday.
Biden has 35 percent support in the Clemson University poll released just days ahead of Saturdays South Carolina primary.
Businessman Tom Steyer, who has focused much of his campaign on South Carolina, pulled in a distant second at 17 percent support in the poll.

SC has a 15% viability threshold for county and state level delegates.
A Pyrrhic Victory at BEST.
More time for more gaffes that’s all.
They say this one is not as important for that and Joe has not put any effort into the ones that are.
Junk poll.
Biden might win, but I believe it will be very close.
A second place finish for Biden is doom.
Hey Big Media.... By how much is he still ahead of Trump?
He’s being set up (if possible) as the next Walter Mondale:-)
I’ve been saying that Iowa and New Hampshire won’t matter as much this Primary.
Junk poll indeed.
I have no doubt the DNC is furiously and frantically pulling out every dirty deed available to derail the Bernie train.
Propping up Joe is an easy gimmick.
Biden about 36% Bernie at around 12% or 1/3 of Joe's votes, something ain't right here.
Cause chaos in the Dem Primary by voting Biden.
I thought Biden was running for a seat in the Senate...
But then, so did he.
The Dems are so screwed
What if he ultimately announces Biden/Bloomberg and finances with tons of Bloomies money?
That would probably kill of the Bern.
I have no idea if the poll is designed to push public opinion. But CBS & NBC has the race near margin of error. He had a lead in the state for a long time, heavily black democratic vote, so it does look like he’ll win.
Now, super Tuesday will present a problem. A lot of big liberal states voting. So, his enjoyment might be short lived.
East Carolina U. Biden +8
PPP Biden +15
Clemson Biden +18
CBS News/YouGov Biden +5
NBC News/Marist Biden +4
I can hardly wait for the Democrat Convention. The only downside is I worry Milwaukee will literally burn, and that isn't good for anyone.
Yes, Slow Joe will get hammered a couple of days later on Super Tuesday.
That’s hard to believe. Very hard to believe.
At least when he drops out he can perhaps claim at least one win and keep his head high.
