President Trump said in an early-morning tweet on Wednesday that he will hold a news conference at 6 p.m. to address his administration's response to the coronavirus outbreak.
In the post, he continued to blame the media and Democrats for overstating the danger of the disease, even as health experts have warned of its spread.
Trump accused MSNBC and CNN of "doing everything possible to make the Caronavirus look as bad as possible, including panicking markets, if possible." The president initially misspelled the name of the virus.
He insisted the U.S. is "in great shape" in its handling of the disease, adding that he and health officials will hold a news conference at the White House on Wednesday evening.

There doesn't have to be a major outbreak. Just rumors to light the fuse.
This should be a long, boring conference with meaty details, not quick platitudes and then boisterous Q&A. Give us meaningful discussion and details!
Don’t put it past evil people to purposely have the virus brought in through those infected early and not showing signs. These people will do anything for power. President Trump needs to realize the means they will to go to take him out.
The democrats and their partners in the deep state will be working hard to spread the virus to multiple locations to make Trump look bad. As Rush would say “don’t doubt me” .
Until very recently, the media has been downplaying it, as Trump has. It is easy to downplay it when the CDC is not testing people.
Sad thing is they don’t have to bring it in. As you can see the CDC yesterday announced that “everyone should prepare for it’s arrival”. They are not going to shut down air travel from those places now heavily infected. The are welcoming it here and I bet some relish the fact

The CDCs little telebriefing with the media was an abject joke! All they did was add fuel to the utter hysteria of this Coronavirus “outbreak.” The CDC provided no specifics, just warnings to foment fear among Americans!
The timing of their little telebriefing was very suspect! Sad so many FReepers are drinking the media kool-aid on this! It’s also troubling that Rod Rosenstein’s sister is the CDC official who had the briefing with the media! This apparently doesn’t bother some here who believe the Coronavirus hysteria.

The so called experts at the World Health Org and CDC sent up the red flags during ALL of these strains....and then, they died.
It's all hype and most people look at it, then go get a cup of coffee or toodle on down to the pub as if nothing is going on.

Heck, even the ordinary flu kills thousands of people a year here. I honestly don’t see the reason for panic.
I think it would be great to see better sanitation in hospitals and public places, and that would probably do more than anything else to reduce the chances of contagion. Disinfecting buses and subways every day could only be a good thing, especially since most cities have a “homeless” population that is a massive traveling vector of disease. So, yes, there are practical measures that need implementation.
Also, why wasn’t the CDC prepared in terms of equipment, testing and even simple things like protective gear? The bureaucrats just take their paychecks and shrug “who, me?” When confronted on their inactivity.
But the CDC’s “briefing” was nothing but a political stunt and was, in fact, intended to set off or encourage panic.

Like all POWER CENTERS (even DC-Divide and Control) they weren’t specific naming the individual with supporting evidence were they? They’ve gotten richer, fatter and lazier since Rushdie. Trump took some initial steps that made sense, establish team, discourage travel, then halt travel. After those quick steps it seems to have been nothing. Again, we need to see serious discussion and transparency. The mortality rate in Italy and Iran are in stark contrast to what China is sharing. Trump’s team needs to give update. It is great that were are less than 100 infected Americans here in the US, is that really true? Some reports say it is not. It is good that we seem to have stopped it at the border, are we doing enough? Should we close the borders? The economic impact may be most serious, are we doing enough to help companies transition production back to the US? That is a big area he might address. Bring those companies home! Minimize the impact on Americans.
While the President was busy handling coronavirus from its outset, the democrats were busy handling impeachment.
I disagree. He was handling this but the media and democrats claimed that anything he was doing was a “distraction” from impeachment.
