Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh on Friday wagged his finger at Democrats and U.S. intelligence agencies, arguing they tricked former President George W. Bush into the Iraq War and are now trying to do the same to President Trump.
"Now Bush, as a Republican, probably not popular with the deep state, particularly after how he was elected," Limbaugh said on his radio show. "A lot of Democrats, a lot of deep staters think that [Al] Gore should have been president."
"I think there was as much resentment in the deep state - we just didn't call it that then - for George W. Bush as there is today for Donald Trump, and if not the same, it's close," he added.
The deep state, Limbaugh asserted, planted fake evidence of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) to push Bush into the Iraq War and is now "making up evidence" of Russian ties to Trump.

George W. Bush, son of George HW Bush, grandson of Prescott Bush, is the very definition of a Washington insider and craven globalist.
No one needed to trick him into a war in the middle east, especially one that his father started.
As if Duhbya didn't know who April Glaspie was and what she did to jump-start the Iraq war at the behest of his dad, HW Bush.
Look at those who signed the Project for the New American Century letter to Clinton in January 1998 and decide for yourself who was pushing Bush to invade Iraq.
Thus, we end up with the impossible situation we are in now.
I can think of some “impossible situations” we could be in from your ideas.
Trump ain’t Bush!
So what in your arm chair position was the proper response to 911?
Securing Americas borders. And if we had to invade some country, maybe Mexico as part of establishing security on our borders and our neighborhood

Possibly, but we wouldn’t have all the dead and wounded US service people. That was unnecessary and tragic. BTW, I knew from the start that this would end badly. I’m surprised that so many thought it was a good idea. Politicians always promise that wars will be short and end well, and they are always wrong.
Imagine if Saddam were still in power as a counter to Iran? Instead we helped install a new tyrant in his place, and he is pro-Iran. How screwed up is that?
The threat to the US from Islam is not over there; it’s here. Thanks to Bush and Obama, we have brought thousands of Muslims into the US. They will do to us what they are doing to Europe.
My brief profile page pretty much says it all.
“So what in your arm chair position was the proper response to 911?”
How many of the 19 hijackers were Iraqi?
The federal government, entrusted with national defense, failed on 9-11, failed on Iraq, failed on Afghanistan. They are supposed to be the experts. Why did the Bush admin fight so hard to keep airline pilots unarmed? Why the slow response to the attacks?
As to “armchairs”, the proper way to go to war is to have Congress hold hearings, declare war, and then do it and win. At least, that’s the Constitutional approach. Republicans in Congress said that approach was “anachronistic”.
I like Rush in some ways, but he has been bought and paid for (like Hannity and Ingraham) for a long time. Let’s face it, he could easily pivot to a “President Jeb”.
WMDs...Fat man, little boy, tiny germ. Lots of level 4 labs out there.

Was possessing yellow cake uranium considered having WMD’s?
Yeah. Rush, I love ya buddy, BUT.....as I recall YOU were all-in on invading Iraq too.
To be fair so was I. It seemed necessary given the (and I use the term loosely) intelligence.
I dont know which is worse: Is this allowed to happen because our government is corrupt, or because its just plain retarded?
OK, even if it were there, what would he do with it? If he decided to attack the US, he would be obliterated. And how would he even go about it? This is just another bogus scare tactic to gin up support for war. Sorry, but that dog won’t hunt.
There are still a lot of us Neanderthals still around that believe Saddam had WMD's and they got moved to the Syrian border. Some others could have been buried in the desert unknown where to this day (though I think there's less chance of that.)
Interesting to hear Rush say that Bush was fooled into invading Iraq. Wasnt Rush a big supporter of the invasion? Maybe my memory is wrong, but I thought so
Maybe this is Rushs roundabout way of apologizing and admitting he was wrong
Regime change in iraq became US policy under Billy not Bush’s
We can only speculate what was in the convoy of trucks that raced to Syria ahead of our invading forces.
The British still stand by their statement the Iraqis were in Niger looking for Uranium.
It’s a bogus claim to say the democrats set up W.Bush
Maybe this is Rushs way of staring his mortality in the face and convincing himself that he was duped. Serving as a propagandist for globalist A-holes does have its down side.

Besides the fact that Cheney and Bush both say thats not the case, theres a massive logical fallacy in this claim: the people who make it are saying Saddam has WMDs but instead of using them to try to save his life he sent them to Syria and sacrificed his own life. Theyre essentially claiming he made himself a martyr to preserve some WMDs that wouldnt ever be used. If he wouldnt use them to protect his own regime from invasion, what possible use would they ever be put to? Short answer: they didnt exist, as Bush and Cheney ultimately had to acknowledge
