OKLAHOMA CITY The University of Oklahoma released a statement Monday after a history teacher read during class from a historical document that used a racial slur.
Interim OU President Joseph Harroz said the faculty member read from a historical document that repeatedly used the N-word. He said the professor issued a trigger warning before reading but agreed that the word never should have been used.

Forget about Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer.
No more Mark Twain for you, haha.
Oh no! Scarry words ahead.
What a bunch of light weights.
Why should the word never be used in an historical context? Don’t the snowflakes want to learn history? If not, how can they understand the context as to why that word is considered a slur in our time? (Being rhetorical here.)
Nazi?
The Tulsa Squirrel....is a left wing POS paper.
“trigger warning”?! What a bunch of pansies. I can’t even fathom if these same snowflakes were ever exposed to 1% of what kids in the 50’s and before were exposed to.
So it’s probably best to re-write history. Less stressful.
Well except for certain demographic where it’s commonly used. Guess “Stick and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me!” is passe?
If we had the technology to replace that word with clanging church bells every time they are uttered the world would be a better place.
To imagine there is a word that simply cannot be said boggles the mind.
And the rap music industry would wear those bells out
What utter bull crap. These “students” will never grow up enough to be functional out in the real world, thanks to higher education and the cuck professors.
But, that is all part of the plan.
This reminds me of the story of the University of Utah student studying acting who refused to use the F-word in her roles, for religious reasons. She was condemned by the faculty and her fellow students and essentially kicked out of the program.
Forget about historical documents. You can find that word all over the Rap scene.
The only context you should ever see ‘trigger warning’ is when buying a rifle and someone is trying to sell you a Ruger with their POS 8# trigger.
The snowflakes better get used to reading history before they repeat it.
niggardly?
How dumb!! and in a so called intellectual setting.
We need an honest national discussion on what the word “racist” really means. What is the definition?
Meanwhile the rap heroes of the Black community use the N word all over their vile tunes.
I think NYC had a slang term for every ethnicity in the world. The 30s, 40s and 50s were colorful times
Every time I go into a grocery store and look at the hanging aisle signs I see one that reads ‘crackers’ and I am offended - who do I complain to about that?
