Andrew Yang and the 'Yang Gang' built his candidacy up to be a last ditch effort against a technological apocalypse. Now he's a CNN talker.
What a sad ending to the Andrew Yang saga.
Andrew Yang just signed on to CNN as a political commentator.
He follows in the footsteps of many flunked presidential candidates.
CNN finally has a Don Lemon for smart people.
Presidential aspirant Andrew Yang threw in the towel after the New Hampshire primary. He conceded that as the math guy in the race, he had to acknowledge his numbers dont look good in Super Tuesday states.

Don't worry failed Dem candidates. You can always go on CNN and be a political commentator.
CNN has no shortage of Democrats willing to work for them.
Campaigning on a UBI of $1K/mo. for all is not “smart,” just more Socialist wealth redistribution. Yang is a ‘RAT knothead.
I have no clue what that utter gibberish is supposed to mean.
Smarter than Don Lemon wont be difficult, J. Fred Muggs could do that.
The faggoty-ass whip cream stunt turned off a lot of his base. Asians tend to be a little bit more conservative.
nazis don’t like nazis calling other nazsis nazsis. Nazis are only supposed to call non-nazis nazis. It’s in the play book. Accuse others of what you are doing.
oops wrong thread
Meant for this thread, http://freerepublic.com/focus/news/3819242/posts?page=1
Compared to the extant social welfare system, the UBI has some pluses.
“Compared to the extant social welfare system, the UBI has some pluses.”
Not the way Yang wants to do it.
He was also on the “Medicare for all” bandwagon
If, IF, by UBI you mean abolish, medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Welfare, WIC, EIC, Student Loans, Pell Grants, and Food Stamps; there are some plusses. The problem is he wanted, at least from what I could read keep all the other stuff and add this on top.
That isn’t UBI, it’s buying votes
What has he ever done?

It’s weird how all the people who testified against Trump in the House impeachment hearings are getting “book deals” (payoffs).
And it’s really weird how they all have the same book agent: Javelin.

22 Feb: NY Post: Ex-Ukraine diplomat Marie Yovanovitch lands seven-figure book deal
By Jon Levine
The former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine who testified against President Trump at House impeachment hearings is getting seven figures from publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
The book, a memoir that remains untitled, is expected to be released in spring 2021...
Yovanovitch is represented by the Javelin literary agency, which has handled books for other #resistance icons such as ex-FBI director James Comey and former national security adviser John Bolton...

Also, with a UBI there would be no rationale for legislating a minimum “living wage”. I’m aware that, in the real world, the UBI would be an add-on, and no extant programs would be curtailed.
I am not calling you names. I am complaining about Mr. Yang, not you.
You are also correct, in a UBI system the minimum wage would be abolished.
Without removing every other form of welfare the UBI is a very bad idea
is Yang going to check Anderson and Don Lemon to see if their wangs are circumcised?
I have no clue what Yang has done, but I will say this—he is very pleasant, highly intelligent, and does understand politics.
On most CNN panels I have seen, he is the _only_ adult in the room.
Sounds like a bad business move for Yang and CNN.
Smart people don’t want a Don Lemon.
Just make sure that Don Lemon knows this guy’s name is YANG, not WANG, or it could make for some interesting video clips. /sarc
>>Compared to the extant social welfare system, the UBI has some pluses.<<
IIRC, Yang has been proposing an either/or deal — stay on existing welfare benefits or take the $1K/mo. The UBI would be funded by a regressive VAT, but no cuts in other taxes. What would happen is the UBI & VAT would be implemented, and welfare recipients allowed to keep both. Last, UBI has been tried in other settings and hasn’t worked; it only has increased indolence. (I don’t count Alaska’s oil bonus, which is a refund of excess taxation.)
