Two of my closest friends have spent time in the joint.

Lots of people become “felons” for silly reasons such has having guns in the car, burglarizing DNC headquarters to look for call girl records, etc.

I have done the same, including a person who killed a man.

Where and how can I contribute to his prison canteen account? He deserves a couple of free packs of smokes.

“Pardon time?”

Not in California. My guess is that this where the libs will start getting deeply conflicted about the death penalty.

Child abusers and molesters are unpopular in prison because abuse and molestation are common in the backgrounds of men in prison.

No one should defend this murderer. Prison inmates are not executioners.

Dollars to donuts says the dead guys families end up suing the state and either winning or settling for an “undisclosed” sum.

Then they should be endlessly investigated and stigmatized for producing child molesters.

(until they drop their law suits)

Genuine redemption is rare. You are prudent to be skeptical of any convict. I’ve only known 4 cases in my 6 decades.

We don't take felons into our home, but we do on occasion rent to them. Everyone of them has let us down, everyone.

But we will not give up. Recently we had the occasion to rent to another felon a girl of 30 something who has had years of felony activity. Bad checks, stealing, meth use, etc, etc. We felt good when we met her and her probation officer, they are all rooting for her to make it with a second chance. We are totally into second chances, no matter how we are burned we will not give up on ones who want to try, one of them will make it some day.

Well, the California Department of Corrections goes by strict rules by which an inmate is classified, to include their housing this inmate in general population. Thus giving the CDC some plausible deniability. I don’t think this was a mistake or even an oversight on their part.

The inmate that did the deed will now enjoy being treated as a major hero for the rest of his incarceration and society will have two less scumbags to not only house and feed, but not worry about their children being harmed in the future by these dead pervs. Some people just need killing. What a glorious win-win!

Hubby ran a hotshot fire crew for about a decade. Back then prisoners from Tehachapi prison could work with the firefighters on fires and get paid some nominal amount. The same guys seemed to sign up all the time so he got to know a few of them. He had a few really bad guys on the crew who he said was always soft spoken and yes sir, no sir types. He said they were great to work with since they were appreciative to just get out of the prison when they could. I don’t think they still have that program though.

Are you kidding? Most of those on death row are professionals. Let them take out the trash.

It looks like a perfectly good solution to prison over-population, at least for child molesters and rapists...and maybe even other murderers.

(survival of the fittest)

I agree. This guy sounds a little too comfortable with killing people. On the other hand, as someone noted above, some people do need killing. But I’d prefer to keep people like this out of society. Unfortunately for those wanting to send cigarettes, Cali has predictably banned smoking in prisons.

The older I get, the more convinced I am that there are 2 groups of criminals that you can NEVER change.

Sex offenders-—whose victims can be of any age

Arsonists

No amount of therapy or time will change them. OFF them early & don’t pay to keep them alive.

About 45 years ago, I was fishing with my brother in law on the Kings river. Our favorite fishing hole was over run with such a group, 25 or so big guys, tattoos everywhere.

As a sheltered 11? year old, I was sure my first sexual experience would be that day, as well as my last day. We stayed and fished. Up to that point in my life, I had never been more terrified as I was that day.

At one point I got stuck in the rapids and a huge guy waded out and gave me a hand.

I’m sure there were more than a few decent men that were watching me that day to make sure no one bothered me.

And if I was in for life, I would definitely do the same thing. I thought he explained himself very well. There was no downside on his part to what he did. He wanted to get back to his old cell and buddies, and just took out the trash to make it happen.
win-win
