Neil Young is no fan of Donald Trump.
In an open letter published on his website on Tuesday, the aging rocker told the president directly: You are a disgrace to my country.
Young, who is originally from Canada, revealed last month that hes now a citizen of the United States and plans to use his new status to vote Democrat.
The 74-year-old singer used the letter to Trump to show his support for former President Barack Obama and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.
Your mindless destruction of our shared natural resources, our environment and our relationships with friends around the world is unforgivable. Your policies, decisions and short term thinking continue to exacerbate the Climate Crisis. Our first black president was a better man than you are, he said in his letter to Trump.
He closed out the letter: US justice is ours not yours[.] One of your opponents has answers I like. He is aiming at preserving our childrens future directly. He is not popular with the democratic establishment because unlike all the other candidates, he is not pandering to the industries accelerating Earths Climate Disaster, the end of the world as we know it. he is truly fighting for the USA. His initials are BS (Bernie Sanders). Not his policies. We are going to vote you out and Make America Great Again.

Neil Young’s horrible voice is a disgrace to my ears.
My theory is, since Neil’s fanbase tends also to be leftist, he has to keep his “bonafides” with them.
As I recall, in the 80s he actually had some positive things to say about Reagan, and took some heat for it. So next thing you know, he’s writing songs about a “kinder, gentler Machine-Gun Hand.”
Neil Young.... Never heard of him.. what’d he write, hippie stuff..?
“Live Rust” is one of the greatest live albums ever. Too bad it was made by a commie fool.
Someone remind me. How many liver transplants has he hogged for being an alcoholic.
He means well. To disabuse him of his fantasies would be a chore.
Neither does this Southern woman.

Is there cut off either of the albums that I might remember?
I have followed Neil’s career closely and own or have given sincere listens to all of his releases. Any new music from him after 1980 is highly suspect. Here are the only post-1980 releases I would recommend (other than his relatively recent releases of archived pre-1980 material):
Broken Arrow
Chrome Dreams II
Freedom
Harvest Moon
Prairie Wind
Psychedelic Pill
Ragged Glory

Thanks for the info. I will listen to those of these I can find on YouTube.
So, he has done some legitimate, creative work. I stand corrected!
I admire good guitarists and good wordsmiths. I am an amateur musician.
I never would want to rely on any of the above for life lessons, nor for political opinions. Why is this so hard for Neil (and many others) to comprehend?
Neil Young’s family of friends here in Port Townsend are perplexed. We love Neil, and pray for him to get well. He doesn’t need the stress. He and Daryl should buy the “Ragland” back and take a nice mellow sail around the globe and stay out of the fray. Write some new songs along the way, then come back to us.
I have a good many friends who do not think politically like I do. I know who they are, and I make a point not to discuss politics with them. Nothing is to be gained. I can still love them as the good persons they are, and feel fortunate to be their friend.
He doesn’t look so well..what kind of rocker is flabby and no muscle tone.? He must sit through his whole gig?
