It was reportedly exhaustion. The guy is a bit of control-freak and was working way too many projects and keeping his nose in everybody’s... business.
I think most ‘Hollywood lefties’ are not the deepest thinkers, and not terribly educated. They can be very good at what they do on screen; but a lot of them have an overweening desire to be part of the ‘pack’ and remain relevant. This makes them malleable to the purposes of more clever people.
(We don’t do the ‘rent-a-flick’ machine, in my house. We actually buy the ones we want to see and see again.)
Some old favorite actors have made themselves obnoxious, because they decided to style themselves as ‘activists’ in their personal lives - if they have personal lives at all - instead of keeping the counsel of ‘Just Shut Up And ACT.’
In my romantic life, I always stayed away from ‘actors’. Most of them are good at becoming anything on stage/screen because there’s not much that is definite IN them to start with.
It’s a great gift in its place, but not necessarily an endorsement with regard to intelligence or character.

The movie called “The Hunt” has now been released, where liberals hunt down `deplorables’. It’s not satire.
I had said that they hate us and want us dead; now I rest my case, Hollywood people are EVIL. Their awards ceremonies are proof, if further proof were needed, that theirs is a wicked world full of wicked people.
Ask the underage victims of the casting couch.
That doesn’t sound like a movie that I would want to watch - and I’m not going to get too excited about it.
There are lots of pleasant or fascinating movies to watch, if you want to distract yourself from the current nonsense.
I don’t need distractions. I take the reality of this wicked world head on. I don’t do fiction, I deal only in facts. That’s why I’m here on FR.
Fantasy is for children. Let them be protected and comforted.
Hollywood needs to be actively combatted. Its people need to feel their neck hairs standing on end. They need to be made to feel unsafe among those whom they hate.
