Bloomberg Sparks Bipartisan Outrage for Past, Condescending Remarks About Farmers: ‘Ignorant as [bleep]’

Democratic president candidate Michael Bloomberg drew mockery from both sides of the ideological spectrum after a viral clip of him showed the billionaire media tycoon belittling farming at a 2016 business school talk and contrasting it with the “gray matter” necessary to work in the modern information economy.

Bloomberg’s 2016 comments during a sit-down discussion at Oxford’s Said Business School gained attention after a Twitter account with the handle, Pete Mentes, posted a one-minute snippet of the former New York City mayor — who has never farmed — claiming “I could teach anybody in this room” to be a farmer.

“It’s a process,” he went on to say, referring to the agrarian economy 300 years ago, “you dig a hole, you put a seed in, you put dirt on to, add water, up comes the corn.” He then said working in the modern information economy is “fundamentally different, because it’s built around replacing people with technology and the skill sets you need to learn are how to think and analyze and that is a whole degree level different, you need to have different skill set, you have to have a lot more gray matter.”

Even your dumbest subsistence farmer knows that milk does not come from a machine in the back of a grocery store somewhere. Your average Section 8 city slicker doesn’t.

Bloomie’s obviously an idiot and jerk on multiple levels.

But he built a massive company based on having more sophisticated tech terminals and information feeds than nearly anything else on the market. No, he wasn’t the techie, he was the sales guy with vision. He had legendary executive and managerial chops.

But as this clip proves, he’s also a jerk and an idiot.

His whole business is based off snobbery between banksters, who use it as messaging service, between each other ....and the idiot Banks pay out a fortune to rent terminals, just to keep the banksters happy.

If yr not on the system, then your not worth talking to, according to the banksters...the actual system ain’t that good, unless yr a cash bond trader and there are not many of them.

He’s a conman.....no wonder he hates people who get their hands dirty.

The Soviets did the same thing by starving millions in Ikraine. China did the same thing killing 60 million of its own citizens.

Still waiting for “real socialism” to either exist or work anywhere on the planet.

Jeez, what a jerk you are Bloomberg. When do you plow, plant, and harvest? Let Little Mike plant corn in the same field every year and see what happens to his crop.

It was only a short time back that Donald Trump was a source of notoriety and derision

Last night I started a new Stone Barrington novel set in Palm Beach. He had never been there before and on the tour, his guide showed him a new club called Mar A Lago opened by Donald Trump. The thought was it would fail because it was Trump’s.

I watch British TV on Britbox and Acorn and there are frequent Brit references to Trump in essence wishing he would come and develop somewhere for them to go on holiday. Or statements like “who do you think I am? Donald Trump?”

All this was decades ago

"Ignorant as F*ck."

Wow. There's a devastating political ad, or two or three, to be made there. And it's not just about Bloomberg's ignorance and arrogance; it's about the imbecilities of socialism, in which people like Bloomberg think they are smarter than everyone else, and thus entitled to micromanage complicated systems of which they have absolutely no knowledge. This is Hayek's knowledge problem reduced to a soundbite.

If I were doing the commercial, I use quick clips of a farmer's technology -- the stuff Bloomberg doesn't even know exists -- creating detailed soil maps as it crosses the field, then planting with variable rating of seed and fertilizer dictated by the soil maps, all GPS controlled, then hi tech detection of insect problems, then a quick cut to the labs, then an illustration of the yield curves over the last hundred years.

Bloomberg is so ignorant that he doesn't understand that there's a much information technology in a cornfield as there is in a hospital.

He seems to think farmers are out there growing corn stalks one by one.
Someone should actually challenge him to come to a farm and confront the technology. No telling how many more “deplorable” comments will be unearthed.
What a maroon.

Bloomberg isn’t even well acquainted enough with the countryside to ride English on his Hoyt-Clagwell like Oliver Douglas.

I am retired from John Deere. Farming has become high tech and has always been high risk due to weather, etc. Bloomberg is an idiot.

His system ain’t that great, but it has a private messaging system, that banksters use...u have to have one or other banksters won’t talk to u.

It’s based off snobbery and he charges a fortune for it.

No, in Spain it was reversed; the Soviets and Red Chinese killed millions of those who produced their food, while in Spain those who produced the food killed those who felt they were entitled to it without working.

Actually, bloomberg revolutionized the bond trading business. He rented terminals to bond traders overjoyed to have them as a tool for making money

Trump’s celebrity certainly helped rather than hindered him, and many people around the world wish he was their president - they haven’t had working infrastructure in decades, and believe he’d get things moving again.

Just look at the hordes of people trying to get into this country today - while Trump is president. They certainly aren’t afraid of him, and they seem to expect they’ll have a job when they get here.

What a JOKE!

He thinks he can do what Trump did just because he too is a billionaire.

This guy has ZERO charisma. YOU CAN’T BUY the presidency. Just ask president Hillary.

“Hillary Clinton and her supporters spent a record $1.2 billion for her losing presidential campaign — twice as much as the winner, Donald Trump, according to the latest records.”

It looks like Trump’s campaign will have an embarrassment of riches finding sound bites from Bloomberg’s recent past. Add them to PIAPS’ dismissive and insulting statements ... flame out!

It’s based off snobbery and he charges a fortune for it, if Banks weren’t stealing fortunes, Mini Mike would be flat broke....he is nothing but a parasite, feeding off a bloated host.

Imagine their attitudes if they succeed in gutting or eliminating The Electoral College.

‘’’Exactly, this is not just farmers, the elitist Rats look down at all use hard working peons (e.g., military, firemen, police, blue collar, etc.) as they know what is best for us.’’’

Yeah, it reminds me of this quote. “ The police acted stupidly.” Former President Obama said that.
