President Trumps appearance at the Daytona 500 on Sunday may feature a guest appearance from the presidential limousine known as The Beast.
Trump is planning to take a lap around the track at Daytona International Speedway prior to the venerable NASCAR event, Fox News chief White House correspondent John Roberts reported on Friday, citing multiple sources familiar with the matter. Plans have not yet been finalized.
NASCAR named Trump the grand marshal of the Daytona 500, marking the first time a sitting president has held the honor. He is the latest of several presidents to visit the historic race.
Daytona International Speedway has been privileged to have hosted several sitting Presidents of the United States over our history, Daytona International Speedway President Chip Wile said in a statement. Were honored that the President of the United States has chosen to experience the pageantry and excitement of The Great American Race by attending Sundays 62nd annual Daytona 50
Former President George W. Bush attended the Daytona 500 in 2004. His father, former president George H.W. Bush, attended a July race at Daytona in 1992 and Ronald Reagan attended a race in 1984.
Wondering what The Beast has under its hood? Gas or diesel?
My guess is all three, gas, diesel, and electric.
How fast will they get that thing going? Hopefully something decent and not sedate.
I hope the Secret Service promises to get it over 100 mph! That would be epic.

A sitting duck for what? An RPG attack? From NASCAR fans?

NASCAR IS a demolition derby.
Screw the limo. Put the prez in a special edition souped up Camaro. He’ll peg it at 160 around the track.
When a "Big 'Un" happens, you're not far from the truth.
I was planning on watching anyway, so this news just made it all the more special.
I saw this on the Powerline week in pictures, it’s fantastic news. Draw the lines folks, draw the lines!
However, the guy who "drove" the limo in the game (Don Joewan Song) actually claims to be a Secret Service agent...
I find this hard to believe. How are you going to get that heavyweight Beast he rides in, from the flat area onto the track itself, with the the crazy amount of Banking on the track? When I see that, I’ll believe it.
Best President Ever!
Yeah I like road courses, open wheel and especially USAC.
(dirt is for racing...asphalt is for getting there)
I am certain the Secret Service will take the “BEAST” vehicle around the track lap below the yellow line at a nice controllable safe speed!!! This fantastic Daytona 500 POTUS lap will be one for the record books....with millions of Americans who will be watching on their TVs and feed lines, as well as the 120,000 NASCAR fans at the track proper!!!
I mean, I, as a NASCAR fan for just about my whole aged life cannot not ever picture Democrats, Sanders, Clinton, Biden, Buttigieg, Kolbuchar, Steyer commanding “Drivers, Start Your Engines”!!!
Ho, ho, ho,....Bloomberg & Clinton...the political joke of the year!!! If little Mike needs Hillary Clinton as his VP....he is in deep Trouble in more then one way...period!!! You folks out there in America land figure it out!!!
Don’t think #45 is in use today. A little history of the #45
Notable: LeeRoy Yarbrough is the only other driver to carry No. 45 to victory,
scoring the first two big-league wins of his career in the 1964 campaign. ...
Adam Petty, the fourth generation of the racing family, made just one Cup
Series start in the No. 45 on April 2, 2000, at Texas Motor Speedway. He
died nearly six weeks later in a crash at New Hampshire. His father, Kyle,
eventually took over the No. 45 car in tribute to his son, closing out
his driving career with the number in 2008.
