Trump’s spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham responded, saying Trump “wasn’t bothered” by Barr’s critique:

The President wasn’t bothered by the comments at all and he has the right, just like any American citizen, to publicly offer his opinions. President Trump uses social media very effectively to fight for the American people against injustices in our country, including fake news. The President has full faith and confidence in Attorney General Barr to do his job and uphold the law.

Trump is a trollmeister.

He is extremely good at it.

I often wonder if the drama isn’t something that he has at least partially orchestrated.

Where is Barr’s rebukes to Pelosi and Schumer for claiming the AG is corrupt and tainting cases?

Why is it that they can make the most ridiculous and insulting public comments and no one asks Barr if he feels there is any interference?

One has to wonder why four high-level DOJ attorneys were necessary to prosecute a simple process crime.

Yep. And it may be "code" for certain things to happen, too. No wonder Trump gives the drive by media major headaches trying to figure him out.

The presidency in our constitution is unitary. President Trump also has the POWER to direct the Attorney General to take specific action in any way he chooses: by letter, phone call, directly, memo, post-it, or by Tweet.

None of that is meaningful, as Attorney General Barr had already taken action before President Trump put his fingers to the virtual Tweeting keyboard and sent out his opinion on Twitter. Barr’s proper action, doing his job to discipline his DOJ house had already been done.

Never-the-less, BOTH were correct in what they said and/or did.

Barr didn’t rebuke the president - fake news. Rebuke means sharp disapproval. Barr simply said tweets made is job harder, which I’m sure is true.

“I will not be bullied in doing my job as Attorney General by the press, Congress, or the President.” — AG William Barr, in response to this kerfuffle.

We are 3 years and almost a month into Trumps first term. Democraps have arrested and convicted just about anybody and everybody even remotely connected to Trump while not one single solitary Rat from the treason swamp has gotten not so much as a parking ticket. I think Trump has a right to complain and if AG Barr continues to refuse to do his job he should step the hell down.

Exactly! A crime that would not have happened had the witch hunt into a fake narrative not been started to begin with. Stone was just being a loyal friend. Maybe a bit misguided but still had good intentions.

I think those who knew this was a fake investigation should be investigated then when found guilty as sin; sent to prison for 7-9 years. The exact recommendation for Stone's sentence. Fair is fair. Then we can call people like Schiff, Nadler, Green, Tlaib, AOC, etc. "convict" instead of "representative".

When I read this I thought the "he" referenced here was Barr, not Trump.

If this statement from the White House was referring to Trump's rights as an American citizen, then it seems awfully lame and inappropriate. Why does President Trump insist on acting like he has no control over his own subordinates?

I had the same thought. Is this orchestrated between Trump and Barr? By pushing back Barr can show he’s not influenced by Trump after the Roger Stone episode, where he was unfairly accused of a lack of independence.

Barr says Tweets making his job harder, but speaks to media whores who will twist his words to mean whatever they want it to. Who’s making your job harder again, Barr?

That is exactly the point

The media has of course made it into something it isn’t if they think it hurts Trump

Sadly, no GOP Senator wonders why that was the case. Now why would that be?
