Roger Stone Deserves a Severe Punishment
National Review ^ | 2/12/20 | Kevin D. Williamson

Posted on 02/13/2020 4:52:03 AM PST by JonPreston

Roger Stone belongs in prison for a very long time. The seven felonies of which he stands convicted are at heart crimes of political corruption — lying to Congress and tampering with witnesses in order to impede a federal investigation into official wrongdoing. The charges together could have brought him 50 years in prison — and that would not have been unjust.

The Lord may have mercy on his soul, but his ass belongs in the federal penitentiary for a good long while.

Don’t forget, Williamson is the one who said that white people/blue collar jobs need to disappear.

Make a list...
Comey, Hillary emails, the lovers, Btennon, Clapper...then compare those to Roger Stone getting a date wrong in a purgery trap. Apples and moons! (forget oranges).

The original goal of the hardcore NeverTrumpers was to drive out Trump and replace him with a ‘kinder gentler Republican’ (a little Bush lingo there). Perhaps Pence, or some other arrangement. (actually it was originally supposed to be Paul Ryan at the Convention in 2016, but the elected Republicans let Ryan know what was in store, if he did make that move)

But now with even the NeverTrumper count down by 90% (the vast majority now realizing that, while Trump is no Reagan, he is, in fact, BETTER than Reagan), and Trump at 95% overall Republican support, they realized that their options are quite limited...and nothing else is open to them than openly supporting the Democrats. And so they’re at that phase now.

Stone was convicted for process-only charges, with no underlying criminal act. The sentence was too high, and this article is simply ridiculous.

I offer this to anyone who still subscribes to the National Review.

It deserves the same fate as Bill Kristol’s worthless wad of kindling, the Weekly Standard.

I don’t know the facts surrounding the “witness tampering” charge, but anyone who lies to Congress deserves a medal, not a criminal conviction.

Stone should rot in prison just for taking it upon himself to testify before that bunch of @ssholes.

I haven’t read that rag since they dumped Trump.

Total BS...worse than those two asshats Bill Kristol and Steve Hayes.

After Trump wins the election he can pardon all these people

Fortunately, I suspect that Trump is going to pardon him or commute his sentence after the election anyway. It’ll be fun watching heads explode when that happens.

Stone told his coworker who was a witness at his trial he would kill his cat. The witness told the prosecutors that it wasn’t a serious threat and he didn’t have any fear of Stone.

Joe DiGenova gave an interview with the Daily Caller yesterday. He thought it likely Trump would commute Stone’s sentence if given jail time.

I see. Part of the problem here is that the Trump associates who have faced criminal prosecution seem to have an average IQ of about 90.

There are people with Down’s syndrome who are smart enough not to do that kind of sh!t.

Stone deserves the right to sue the DOJ for damages.
NR needs to pull its head out of Obama’s backside and see the light of day.

I don’t have a high opinion of Roger Stone, as he had been an aggressively pro-abort Republican with his then-wife Ann Ball founding “Republicans for Choice”.

But injustice is injustice. Mr. Williamson claims that Stone committed seven felonies and should rot in jail. I am reminded of the book “Three Felonies a Day” that makes the case that a typical U.S. professional commits three felonies a day without even knowing it.

When was the last time that Williamson said “Lock him up” about Obama, Pelosi, Romney, Kerry, Gore, Reid et al?

Yes, we have to shoot our own dogs. But you don’t shoot your dog because he peed in the wrong place once.
