Association of Flight Attendants President Sara Nelson criticized former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg Wednesday for a tweet defending private health insurance, that appeared to characterize the employer-provided health benefits as gains won by union workers.
Buttigieg defended his proposed Medicare for All Who Want It plan, saying 14 million union members have fought hard for strong employer-provided health benefits in a tweet Wednesday morning.
Nelson, who played a key role in ending the federal government shutdown last year, called the invocation of labor rights offensive and dangerous.
Stop perpetuating this gross myth. Not every union member has union healthcare plans that protect them, Nelson tweeted. Those that do have it, have to fight like hell to keep it. If you believe in Labor then youd understand an injury to one is an injury to all.
For profit healthcare doesnt work, @PeteButtigieg. Its killing people & putting working people in financial ruin. The whole country knows it. Collective bargaining is about problem solving, she added. Dont use unions to promote division thats only good for the profiteers.
Nelson has previously said "Medicare for All" has strong support among union rank-and-file and called invoking unions to argue against it typical union busting tactic to divide people within unions and to divide union members from non-union members.

LOL. I wonder if unions are finally going to wake up in this election cycle to realize that Dem policies actually will destroy them. Take away the benefits they negotiated and have the state provide everything.
No - SOCIALIST healthcare does not work - never has, never will.
This is why private sector unions are disappearing....they are incoherent, useless and irrelevant.
Many are just bastions of communists hanging on.
Others (UAW) have corrupt leaderships that take bribes for contracts selling out workers.
It is the death throes of unions.
Remember, these same people are responsible for your Safety whenever you Fly.
This seems convoluted. Am I reading this correctly?
Buttgig says he wants to give Medicare to everyone who wants it.
But he also says some Unions have worked hard to negotiate good Health Care plans with their employers, and he doesn’t want to hurt them and take away what they fought for.
The Union head says Don’t do us any favors, we would much rather get in on that Medicare For All deal so we won’t have to fight with our employers for these kinds of things.
Dem open borders policies have destroyed unions and will continue to do so.
Most union members figured that out by 2016.
The media describes him as moderate but based on what?
Indystar: “So far, hes been able to rise in fame without much focus on the specific issues. He answers reporter questions on issues and is articulate, but unlike Sens. Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren, he doesnt have a detailed policy page on his website. Nor does he dive deep on specific issues.”

Do you know what killed most unions? Government took over their role. The Dept. of Labor is the union. Pay disputes, Wage and Hour, safety concerns, OSHA.

Based on the fact that his father is a Communist??
I’m glad I’m not the only one who found the article confusing. It was difficult to understand who is taking which position.
The problem is not profit, pay and remuneration. It is the perfect storm of socialism and crony capitalism. Doctors get screwed, nurses are treated like crap and the patients are treated like crap. But the same business genius's that brought us the 737 MAX are "reforming" health care aided by the guys with public policy degrees from Georgetown University.
None of this bears any resemblance to what would happen in a genuine free market where providers could only make money by providing services that the consuming public can and will pay for.
Some unions are kicking spouses off plans (Kroger?).
Some unions self-fund and administer health-insurance. They were given almost unique exemptions from Obamacare criteria.
Some unions had their employer-provided plans cancelled, and the members got thrown on the Obamacare market.
Other unions negotiated with the employers to get insurance plans which were outside Obamacare and were not outlawed by it.
Mayor Pete:

Union members are going to not vote for any candidate that takes away their benefits. Regardless of who the Demonrat Union Boss tells them to vote for
