I had a Secret clearance. Basically, that meant I was qualified to know what any officer in a tank battalion needed to know.

I wouldn't trust Vindman with anything more.

In the Marine Corps, being able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance is a basic officer commissioning requirement. There are officer (and enlisted) MOSs that have higher security clearance requirements but if you cannot obtain a Secret clearance or, more importantly, you lose your security clearance, you are done as an officer. There are no officer MOSs that do not require some sort of security clearance.

I assume there is a similar requirement in the Army.
