Lt. Col. Vindman is part of this summer's incoming U.S. Army War College class

Without a doubt the most disappointing and surprising aspect of the Trump admin for me has been the disloyalty of the military brass. Just today POTUS is proposing an increase in the DOD budget and VA budgets. And what does POTUS get in return from the military brass regarding this coupist? Another middle finger.
I concede to your post. I wonder how long ago these orders were in place? I had orders for Naval Postgraduate School almost 10 months before I rotated there. He may have had these in work before he even came in to testify. Being on the NSC (before he was notoriously famous) would have in fact looked good in his application.
Should have been expected from anyone willing to pull the politics to get promoted above 0-4 under the obama regime
Expect anyone above 0-6 to have been a political player esp if they were in DC
By being selected for war college hes assured of making O-6...means hes in the top third of his year group.
Meaning his military chain of command is just fine with his coupist behavior. His civilian boss at the NSC certainly was not and testified that he had a low opinion of Vindman. Yet the U. S. Army does not agree, apparently. Interesting.
This was in the works a year ago at least. They make up the class way in advance. Now should it be pulled? Yes!
not if you consider the fact he went to war against trump and his supporters...
Something tells me the Lt Col is not going to be on the list for O-6.
There are a finite number of slots for Generals. Therefore, 99% of Colonels are at the end of their careers. He will be ending his time like all the others with no ramifications.
War College is one of those boxes you check on the way to full Colonel. Shame to waste it on a guy like Vindman, who had several bad write-up from supervisors. No matter. It appears the Pentagon still has many swamp creatures.
I sure wouldn’t want him in my AWC class. It will be interesting to see how he acts in the ‘mixes’ of 12-15 individuals. Whether he is a know-it-all or acts humble. Hell, the way this Nation is going they may welcome him with open arms.
Vindman looks exactly like the kind of officers we would’ve despised when I was in the military...the smug know-it-alls that graduated from some academy or Ivy League school.
Is it too late to send him on patrol duty in downtown Kabul?
A member of my family attended the War College and told me that there are many participants from foreign countries’ militaries.
Vindman=lying dog faced pony soldier.
I hope some patriot pantses that putrid SOB when he stands to introduce himself in his first classroom.
He apparently isn’t going to get a dishonorable discharge and jail time, so I guess that is the best we can hope for.
Don’t know where he did his O-5 command but sure that his firing from the NSC will not sit favorably with the O-6 board. Better for him to retire now, at the height of his infamy, then get passed over.
I am a graduate of the Army War College. A few words on how this works and how Vindman is slated to attend. Selection is done by an Army central slection board who review all of the eligble files and select the best of these to attend. Based on the timings surrounding Vindman and the boards, he was selected last year and must have been deferred, probably because of his assignment to the NSC. That board would have never seen any of Vindman’s efficiency reports from the NSC, including the bad report from Morrison. He probably had a pretty good file and his selection is not surprising.
Once you are on the list, you are going to go, unless you are relieved or commit an offense like DWI, sexual conduct, etc. Vindman was reassigned from the NSC, not an adverse action, at least not yet. I doubt that he will receive any disciplinary action that would cause him from being removed from the list. I’m guessing that he now has two bad reports in his file: Morrison’s report and the one he got on Friday. That means ENDEX as far as his career is concerned, but if nothing else happens, he will report to Carlisle this summer.
BTW, attendence at the War College does not guarantee promotion to COL, I know several who were not promoted. If you get a bad report in between the time you were selected to attend and the time that your COL promotion board convenes, you probably won’t get promoted. More super files are reviewed than the number of available promotions. If you have a ding, you are not going to make the cut.
I wouldn’t surprised if he retires before he reports. He is a hero of the revolution right now, he can get a good gig with the Leftie establishment.
POTUS needs to stop this NONSENSE!
NOW!
Good sit-rep. Thanks.
How does this change if he is charged with leaking? I personally would like to see him OTH discharged and loss of pension.
