Pelosi And Romney Both Underestimate Trump
Issues and insights ^ | February 7,2020 | I & I Editorial Board

Both Pelosi and Romney – and probably almost all political figures and analysts of politics in America – have continually grossly underestimated Donald Trump.

It became clear at his East Room event in the White House on Thursday that despite his meager experience, this man is a shrewd, steely gladiator of the political arena. Romney was looking to the post-Trump era when he cast his impeachment vote with the Democrats, betting that the GOP and the country will be pining for a washing away of Trumpism.

It’s more likely Romney will soon find himself an ostracized, impotent legislator whose phone calls are left unsenatorially unreturned. Meanwhile, decidedly red, Trump-friendly Utah will find the former Massachusetts governor – who has flip-flopped on every issue one can name – to be less and less attractive.

It isn’t “Teflon Don” occupying the Oval Office; it’s more like some alien force from a science fiction movie that consumes every weapon launched at it and becomes stronger because of the attacks. The exasperated Pelosi is at a loss as to what to do now. And Romney has likely placed himself at the onset of a long obscurity.

The GOP washed Ronald Reagan away the first day of George Bush...

Reagan’s biggest mistake...

I think if Trump gets four more years...it might be different...

He has exposed them...so they need to change ...because there are now

Millions that want his carried on .....America First...

The entire corrupt establishment underestimated Trump.

What they cannot fathom is that Trump towers over all of them intellectually and morally.

If and when they ever understand this--and it may be only in the afterlife--they will be sorely humbled and, when they have reached a sufficient level of enlightenment, contrite.

Romney was told by Deep State that he will go down with them so he may as well fight on their side.

Love this line.

“It isn’t “Teflon Don” occupying the Oval Office; it’s more like some alien force from a science fiction movie that consumes every weapon launched at it and becomes stronger because of the attacks.”

“despite his meager experience”

I’ve been saying from day one that Trump didn’t build a ten billion dollar international development business in a vacuum. That is political experience!

Any leadership role(s) on committees, or even being on the committees, should be rescinded for Mittens! Relegate him to coat-holder!

Exactly.

Once I read Trump's book, The Art of the Deal, the Trump Presidency was understandable.

President Trump's entire business life was a series of events and lessons on how to negotiate with corrupt politicians effectively, and how to triumph against them.

****

Romney is 72 I think. And, will be 76 when his current term expires. So, depending on circumstances (health, popularity, desire) it’s problematic whether he will run again. However, it is possible that he could be recalled. Just depends how he votes in coming months....

If Romney had as much honor in his entire body as Trump has in his pinky toenail; he would resign and never be seen in the political arena again. His career is over anyway no matter what he does going forward. At this point he’s nothing more than an impotent placeholder with near zero influence.

He could defect to the People Commie Dem party but they would never accept him as one of their own. He’s (stick a fork in him) done politically. Maybe CNN/MSDNC will give him a guest spot once in a while.

Romney at his age should be concerned about his soul.

Does Romney have hatred in his heart for Trump? Sounds like his conscience to me.

Christ said “He who loves his brother abides in the light, and in it there is no cause of stumbling. But he who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. 1 John 2: 10-11

Both Pelosi and Romney have had their asses handed to them by president Trump.

Trump has also eaten their lunches from home.
