President Trump and his aides wasted little time opening a campaign of retribution against those he blames for his impeachment, firing on Friday two of the most prominent witnesses in the inquiry against him barely 48 hours after the Senate acquitted the president.
Emboldened by his victory and determined to strike back, Mr. Trump fired Gordon D. Sondland, the ambassador to the European Union, within hours of the White House dismissing Lt. Col. Alexander S. Vindman, a decorated Iraq war veteran who was a Ukraine expert on the National Security Council. Both officials testified to a House committee about the presidents efforts to pressure Ukraine to help him against his domestic political rivals.
I was advised today that the president intends to recall me effective immediately as United States Ambassador to the European Union, Mr. Sondland said in a statement just hours after Colonel Vindmans dismissal. He expressed gratitude to Mr. Trump for having given me the opportunity to serve.

Instead of the ubiquitous Casual Friday, from now on the Trump administration should observe Firing Friday. :0)
So. Much. WINNING! :)
If you’re kicked off the ride you don’t get a refund. You didn’t buy the d*mn ride. chuckle.
Time for some swamp-draining! You lib morons brought this on yourself, way to motivate the guy that you can’t stand. Suck on that, losers. This and the Iowa Caucus was a disaster, everything you touch goes to crap.
Boo hoo. You try to have a guy unfairly whacked and it fails, don’t expect him to be Bambi the next times he comes a’knockin’.
It was surreal.
Well, damn DJ, he sure as hell looked like Ron Glass!!!
:^)
Handled that Bloop Gun like a pro.
Ron would’ve been too old for the part at about 30. Those would’ve been kids in the trenches, probably 18-21, tops, although they’d have looked aged. Herb Rice was about 25 or so.
I can imagine Rice’s character would’ve ended up like that guy, “Weird Larry”, described in that episode of WKRP when Venus Flytrap explained why he went AWOL.
I can’t wait until after the election and he follows Obama’s lead using his phone and pen. Trump Unchained will be a few pages in the history books.
Most government workers have Civil Service protections. It is only the appointees that can be summarily fired.
Election night Nov. 2020 will be soooo sweet.
see post 81
The Dems always look for/manufacture “scandals” as it gets closer to election time - wouldn’t it be sweet to have a host of actual scandals/crimes by them to be streaming out as we move towards November...
Sort of like NYC.
I refer to him as Not Ron Glass.
Yes. Maybe Trump can teach them to fight at least a little and not to be such sanctimonious schmucks.
I’ll wager $25 extra to FR that he will leverage much of what they’ve been doing and turn it around on them like he did with Nancy’s idiotic show of tearing the SOTU up....and it’s sweet since it was not altered/photo-shopped, she can’t get it taken down....I sent her a tweet with the “Faces” vid by the artist and with a live link to Trump’s YouTube deal showing clips of the happy faces and interspersed with shots of Nancy tearing it up....never thought I would get onto Twitter, but did so in order to support trump’s tweets and found out it’s a great trolling tool.
Barzini’s dead. So is Phillip Tattaglia — Moe Greene — Strachi — Cuneo — Today I settle all Family business, so don’t tell me you’re innocent, Carlo. Admit what you did.
Good point
Thank you brother for posting that. All excellent points.
